Re: Sat Nav not working
I took the car into the VW dealership. Problem identified as SOS Control Unit not working. Luckily I have a few months of warranty left so I don’t have to pay just under £1k!

No I don’t recall getting the prompt. Apple Maps work fine when out walking.

Re: Cruise control deactivated
Great advice thanks, sorted. Pity the dealership couldn’t have advised us, instead they wanted us to book the car in and charge £25 for the use of a courtesy car.

Cruise control deactivated
Car has just had its software update, now the cruise control doesn't work - says it has been deactivated. Also voice control has re started - keeps butting into conversations. Can we fix these ourselves or does it have to go in to the dealership? They want to charge us for a courtesy car if so!!

Re: 3.2 software update cancelled
Car had to be recovered after brakes seized on (apparently due to build up of dirt due to low usage as mainly used in regenerative braking setting) Software update completed at the same time, now the cruise control does not work (says it has been deactivated and the voice control has kicked in again...

Emergency break down contact and user manual
Hi, just wondering what the process is if we have a break down / flat tyre. I recall the dealership saying there is an emergency call out valid for the first 3 years. How do you access the service? Also, the dealer said the vehicle user manual is now on line. Can this be accessed via the infotech sy...

Charging
Four months into ownership and very pleased with the car. Minor niggle opening the boot with the key fob resolved by the dealership. I've noticed the last two times I've charged the car to 80% the range has only shown 168 miles not the usual 218 (it wasn't too cold on each occasion 6 - 8 degrees). A...

Re: A few niggles
Thanks Rob.
How do you stop the charge in car?
Reference the leaks nothing trapped, the wet gets in on both doors wells.
I always have the key with me and stand next to the car when trying to open the boot. I'll try the slow and deliberate approach!

A few niggles
Into 3rd week of ownership and very pleased overall with the experience. Just a few niggles, I wondered if anyone else is experiencing the same. 1. Just been to Tesco and used the pod point charger. Unfortunately on returning to the car I couldn't disconnect the charger cable despite logging out of ...

I've experienced the same issue not being able to unlock the boot. Very random as too when it works. Has anyone come up with a solution?

Tyres
Just following the tyre topics and wondered if you get a choice on tyre makes fitted at the factory? We had a choice with wife's Porsche Macan and chose Michelin all seasons. Managed over 40,000 miles. Mind you she drives with fuel efficiency in mind! We take delivery of our ID 3 early September.

Thanks everyone for the swift responses. Feeling somewhat reassured now.

Thinking of buying ID 3
Hi, new to the forum. It's great to have views from actual owners. Wished I'd found you a few weeks ago and saved myself hours of research. Still so many questions, I hope you can help out. 1. Does the ID 3 come with a type 2 charger cable? 2. How do I find out if my power supply can cope with a 7kw...
