I’m hoping to pick up my new car in the ext couple of weeks and wondering if I should carry out a factory reset before handing over old car to the dealer. If anyone has experience of a factory reset could you please let me know what it actually consists of?

We charge error
Just had v3.2 update completed today. Everything looks to be set up OK. However when trying to setup the Wecharge app get unable to open with error n002. Tried leaving for awhile and also rebooting info system but still getting same error. Hoping someone can help. Presuming that once set up that wil...

Re: 3.2 software update cancelled
Car booked in for update in July, no word of cancellation yet. Noted this a few days ago - "FRANKFURT, May 6 (Reuters) - Carmaker Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) is set to dismiss all but one of the executive board members at its software division Cariad next week to try to resolve development problems...

Re: The Gods Must Be Crazy, VW starts rolling out software v3.?
Phoned my local dealer, Vertu Hereford, and spoke to their service manager. He’s heard nowt about it. Same thing as happened with the v2.4 update. He suggested waiting a couple of weeks and book then. I’ll probably wait a bit longer so that hopefully others will have gone through the upgrade process...

Re: Software version for older models?
Has it ever been mentioned anywhere which software version will be the best we will get with older cars? Mine has been on V3.0 for ages, so is that it now? Registered September 21. No. Like you I’m a late 2021 owner. Wouldn’t be surprised if all us v2.4 folks remain there. While I’m not too bothere...

Re: new tyres
Do they come with Contiseal, their self seal tyres? I’m considering these above the Michelin Cross Climates. I have the 18 inch East Derry wheels which only come with the bicycle repair kit and I’d prefer self seal next.

Re: 3.0 Software Update
I don’t believe so, it’s pot luck. I believe some owners never managed to get v2.3 OTA so not a good sign. I didn’t bother taking up VW’s offer. Thought I’d wait to see how it goes as I’m happy with the car as is. If I don’t get v3.x then I won’t lose any sleep.

Re: 3.0 Software update
To be honest I’m not totally convinced that I’ll be able to update to 3.0 OTA how VW go about their updates. I’m a low mileage driver ~4k or so a year. Majority of this is locally and here in Herefordshire 4G signals are nonexistent in many areas. Not even knowing what day of the week I might be ‘of...

Re: 3.0 Software update
I’ve just seen on the interweb that Apple are changing the way they release updates to their iPhones. From next month users will need to drive around in their cars with their iPhones connected to the interweb to download updates. These updates will be released to each user on one day each week, and ...

Chatting to a chap with a Peugeot EV at the local Tesco Podpoint. That’s how they do their updates. A doddle he reckons.

Re: WeConnectID app
If you remember the car was released when the software was nowhere near ready. Reading the early posts here it was just a litany of failures on a daily basis. I think that since 2.3 was released these have dropped substantially to just a trickle. Maybe we are at, or will be with 3.0, where they shou...

Re: WeConnectID app
I’d be more inclined to believe that the lack of functionality in the app is because the software in the car is not able to output the data required for the app to provide any more functions than it already does. Just look at the data in the drivers screen. No battery %, no odometer readings etc. As...

Dropped mine off at 9 o’clock this morning and they rang at 4 o’clock to say completed successfully. Spoke to their service guy and he says so far they’ve been doing one per day for the last three weeks or so and all done in a day apart from one that took two days. Vertu Hereford.

Ditto. My dealership knows nothing. Emailed the manager to ask for clarification but he’s on leave until the 14th
I’ve been a VW owner for about 40 years but think it’s time to move on next renewal. Sigh!

I believe you also need to set up a payment method within the app too.
