Re: Direct Comparison to the Cupra Born
Another ID.3 owner who can directly compare it to the Cupra Born here. I tried to resist but review after review pointed consistently to things that appealed to me, e.g. styling details, chassis fettle and interior quality. Ordered a car that already had a build slot 6 weeks ago and picked it up yes...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Ours went into local Windrush VW yesterday after a 5 week booking lead time. Was called at 4pm to say it wouldn’t be ready until this morning (update console had crashed?!, but it was done by 09:30 so they must have just run out of time. Haven’t noticed any differences yet.

Re: We charge app update
Ah, so the wecharge update must be why this has been going on this morning each time we’ve used it.
Didn’t see mention if wecharge, maybe missed it, but thought it might be more interesting like a precursor for the 2.4 dealer update or something

Re: Moving on
They had plenty of soft touch, that’s what seems to upset people, the harder materials on the ID.3. I don’t particularly mind, but it’s very different to the Mini in that regard. There are some harder plastics but they’re well away from what you see and touch most of the time.

Re: Moving on
I agree it’s well screwed together, more accurately I should have said the quality of some of the visible materials is annoying, mostly because VW laid themselves open to “VW cabin quality isn’t what it used to be” that every review seem to parrot. The other day I saw a piece bemoaning the door caps...

Re: Moving on
Good luck with the Ionic 5, Ive always seen that as the natural upgrade for our ID.3 should we feel we need more car. The ID.3 was our first EV (maybe s/w 3.0 will re-kindle the novelty!), we love it's ease of use, comfort, practicality and cheapness to run, but it's a good driver too. Yep there are...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
I e-mailed my dealership, via the update page on the VW website. That was last Wednesday. I had an automated response [within minutes] from that dealership, but nothing since. I did the same and had the same experience with my local dealer. I also reached out to the dealer I bought the car from (12...

Re: 3.0 Software Update
Is anybody getting letters about the 2.4/battery change from the dealer they bought their car from yet? Ours was a pre-registered car with a handful of miles on it bought from a main dealer so technically we’re not first owner, so if others who bought brand new are getting letters I’m wondering if w...

Re: App not updating unless restarting it?
Looks like this issue (charge and range not updating in the app unless you kill it and restart it) has been fixed in the update to version 1.32.0 (iOS anyway).

Re: App not updating unless restarting it?
Reported this via the app, got replies from support, first to clear the app’s cache in app settings (you can’t) and then to “unload app” in general settings (you have to reinstall), but made no difference. They have escalated it to technical team

App not updating unless restarting it?
Wondering if anybody else has noticed that recently, I’d say a couple weeks, when you open the WeConnect ID app, the car status isn’t updating, to get its current status you have to kill the app and reopen it, then it updates. That’s what I’m seeing at the moment, it didn’t used to be that way, it u...

Re: How to charge an id3 between 0.30-4.30.
I had the Red Light problem with my Pod Point, in that it didn’t extinguish, the scheduled charge never happened, the cable disconnected and the car flagged a charging fault. The workaround was to initiate an immediate charge for a short period, then turn the schedule on. By doing that the charge su...

Re: Charging to 80%
We have same and totally agree with your comments.. The charging software and preferred charge times for-the Mini works flawlessly. It sends me a message when it is starting and When it reaches 100%. The VW offers more charge options and I suspect this is why the software is unreliable, Ha yeah, th...
