Re: How do I delete my data when selling my ID3?

Anyone know the procedure for deleting all my data, we connect, satnav, etc. when selling my ID3 please? Had a search through the forums, on -line, and the printed handbook without finding any instructions. Anyone done this before and remember the instructions? Just done the same. All I did was to ...

Re: Ev Car tax

My thoughts are that the structure of taxation needs to adjusted. We had a Fiesta 1.0ltr petrol and it is zero for taxation. I can not help but think to tax that less than a BEV just doesn't make any sense. The same goes for 'luxury'. A battery costs £££ and we are lugging it around rather than imm...

Re: Long v Short Journeys and Battery Heating

Hi all, So today I did a full run from 100% to see what the battery degradation might be, and was pretty interesting seeing how energy was used over time. For background, July 2022 car with 25,500 miles, I believe 2.4 software, 2 of us in the car, 8°C on average, running in Eco mode and B on the dr...

Re: Long v Short Journeys and Battery Heating

...last one means your car is connected to an ac-charger (wallbox or whatever), charging is done, but with a programmed departure time for preheating. So to answer your question, yes but only if a departure time is set and the temperatures are in the right range. On 3.0 or later. ... So logical. Th...

Re: Spec Confusion!

Just to add to the fact that VW don’t even understand their models themselves. I searched Autotrader for a certain new model of ID3 and it returned 2 which seemed of interest (I.e. cheaper than most). When my local dealer followed this up, VW told them they had been advertised incorrectly. Weren’t t...

Re: Launch editions?

I don't think it exists, the Launch Edition 4 is/was the 77 kwh version. That’s what I thought. But I have been talking with a VW dealer and he reckons he has one. Just shows what they actually know about their own marque. Ask him to just send you pics of the car showing you what it has. It might a...

Re: Genuine VW Granny Charger

Genuine VW Granny Charger 3 pin UK plug Used a handful of times before home charger was installed. Does £80 inc postage sound fair? Think they are about £220 new from VW. Open to offers though. Are you getting another EV? If so, why don’t you keep it? Good question! Hyundai supply their Ioniqs with...

Re: Headlight Levels

I was once out in light fog and you could see the beams dancing away. It was strange seeing the left light illuminating the right side and vice versa. I stick it on auto and let them do what they do. I get flashed, I accept that it may be annoying for others, but they will have to accept that there...

Re: Headlight Levels

I sometimes get this as well. My Life version doesn’t have fancy headlights, it’s all manual, and I don’t think it’s me having main beam on when I shouldn’t. Don’t want to hijack the thread but those of you with fancy matrix headlights, do you just leave the stalk on main beam and let the lights do ...

Re: Auf wiedersehen ID.3 friends

Thanks for the thanks. Not sure what I did to help, as I also rely on the experts here. I wanted an Ionic 5 but it was really too big for us. Plus SWMBO didn’t really take to it. I would get yourself a steering lock, just for peace of mind. I use one on our ID3 if I am going to leave it anywhere a b...

Re: Limit speed with Travel Assist

To be honest, I wasn’t sure what Travel assist did, until I read this and some other posts. To be fair the title of the post is incorrect, but still makes sense. OP probably does have travel assist, but they are talking about Adaptive Cruise Control. Travel assist will steer the car down a road usi...

Re: Limit speed with Travel Assist

To be honest, I wasn’t sure what Travel assist did, until I read this and some other posts. My lowly 2021 Life model seems to have travel assist, but it’s not on the spec sheet for my car. I use it all the time though to stop me from getting a speeding ticket. I guess your query has been answered ab...

Re: Condensation and water droplets inside headlight

Certainly am. The first question I got was " did you buy the car from us?" which I feel is irrelevant. From that point on the negativity from the dealer grew. I was told that its normal due to heating and cooling to it's common with ID.3's nothing to worry about. Best let us know who they...

Re: Condensation and water droplets inside headlight

I seem to be the only one with this issue on the offside headlamp! Local dealer not interested as I didn't purchase the car from them but thankfully Johnsons VW Tamworth have been brilliant about it and are changing the complete unit. I've been told these headlights are on backorder but should arri...
