Re: Final thoughts after 2 years with new car arriving next week
Happy to share Motorway offered £18,245 Sytner in Swindon offered £20,950 without any hassle at all. In fact they offered that with the 1st service done but when logistics became problematic ( I am out of the country for 2 weeks from the 14th) they accepted it without trying to lower the price so I ...

Final thoughts after 2 years with new car arriving next week
Having lived with the ID.3 for 2 years I have sadly concluded that despite having owned and enjoyed a number of VW's in the past years the ID.3 is most probably the last time I will own one. I acknowledged that the car has many positive features - keyless entry/start. and matrix lights being my 2 fa...

Two weeks on from software update - some thoughts. Positives: Some improvement the response time the using the system. More info displayed in drivers screen. Sped sign recognition seems more accurate. Negatives: Apple CarPlay no longer displays map details in drivers display panel properly. Frequent...

Re: 3.2 installed at the dealer today!
My dealer is not the problem. Can only say good things about Heritage Salisbury.
The problem is that the Cariad team are not up to the job. VW keeping it in-house was a major failing on the part of management.

Re: 3.2 installed at the dealer today!
I also have the same problem since update on Thursday. VW have no clue how to fix it so escalated it which from past experience means no further contact for days. Vw software is really unfit for purpose - I am surprised nobody has suggested a class action against. I, for one would sign up in a heart...

Re: 1 year and 14,000 miles.Some thoughts.
Now at 18,000 miles and the software has finally defeated me...... Completely depressed reading about the V3 software roll out and have now decided that enough is enough. Have checked out the MG4, Megan e-tech and the Niro EV. MG 4 is excellent value for money but felt cheap compared to the ID.3. Me...

Seriously thinking about changing to MG 4
Having owned my ID.3 for 13 months I am giving serious consideration to selling it and buying the new MG 4. The pluses: - 7 year warranty, reduction in monthly outgoings of nearly £100 and up to £5,000 back int my savings. Currently being told Jan/Feb for delivery. The minus points: Nt pan roof or (...

Re: 1 year and 14,000 miles.Some thoughts.
As someone who had an ID3 on 2.3 and now has a Born on 3.0, let me tell you that the improvements are negligible, and almost every day i'm informed of an update that'll reset the infotainment system and whack your AC up to 22C mid journey, so you have to turn it back down again. Seriously annoying....

1 year and 14,000 miles.Some thoughts.
Will reach 1 year on September10th but will be driving a hired ICE around Turkey at the time so a few comments about the experience. Charging: Have mainly charged at home using Octopus GO 5p tariff and only used public chargers on 3 occasions. Have also used destination chargers on 4 occasions. We h...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Just collected my car after update and new battery fitted. They said the update went smoothly but no way could it have been done in 1 day. Heritage of Salisbury had the car for 2 days and gave me a courtesy car (sadly not electric) Impressed with the service and level of communication. 30 mile drive ...

Just booked my car in for the update/battery on 02/08......
Member of staff who answered the phone had not heard of the recall but spoke to a manager who said to book me in.
Want the car for 2 days in case it 'overruns'

Re: Voltshare App - anybody used it?
Just returned from a short breaking and used the Voltshare app at the B&B we stayed at: https://www.prettymaidhouse.com. Great place to stay if travelling around Kent. The charger was simplicity itself to use - scan QR code plug your own cable in and instant charge. The app kept us informed re th...

Voltshare App - anybody used it?
I am staying at a B&B on Wednesday who offer charging for my ID.3. They are asking that I download the Voltshare app so I can monitor the charging. Have looked at the App but no reviews and no indication of pricing - I presume the host sets the charge. Seems like a fairly good idea in principle ...

Trip to Cornwall from Wilts (inc recommendation for holiday accommodation.
Just back from a week in Cornwall and thought I would share some thoughts. We stayed just outside Looe and initially we were going to use public chargers in the area. As it turns out that could have been problematic. Most of the limited number of public chargers were hard to find and out of order. C...

Re: 4th day of ownership and awaiting breakdown service!
Sorry to hear of your experience, my post is on here having had the car fail after 3 months of ownership from new, mine is currently at Inchcape in Chester awaiting a new steering lock? I agree it’s not looking good on the reliability front, the AA guy who took my car away said he’d recovered loads...

Charging from a Tesla home charger.
We have booked a holiday cottage in Cornwall and when I asked the owners about availability of chargers locally for my ID.3 they said they have a Tesla charger we can use.... complete bonus for us. My question is - will I need any form of adaptor? I have found different views on the net so thought I...
