Re: key fob battery

It worked!
I also changed batteries in both fobs. Best be safe.
No more announcing to the neighbours when I'm about to use my car :-)

Re: Octopus Intelligent VS My Car & Wallbox

I use Octopus. Had issues when starting the charge before midnight, then going onto 7:00am - I don't think it liked changing to a different day, even though I set it up properly. Not sure if issues caused by VW app, Wallbox or Octopus. Changed the charging start to 12:05am. Better since then (except...

Re: key fob battery

My key hasn't opened the car for a few weeks now, unless I use the 'manual' key & set off the alarm before turning the motor on & blipping it inside. It does work after driving it for a bit, though. Car just told me yesterday 'key fob battery low'. Car is over 2 years old - is that reasonabl...

Re: Well, I didn't know that!

I have had my car since February and I still get a 404 error  I got that, but then went onto my phone ID3 app - Profile - [my name] profile. Then where it says 'password' click 'Edit'. Scroll down to 'Connected apps' - Volkswagen United Kingdom. Click on that - first time it asked me to verify...

Re: Why did you get an ID.3?

My 4x4 is showing its age, maybe got 2-3 years max left in it. Also, fossil fuel cars are now on their way out and electric is on its way in/up. Commuting reasons, plus I do a lot of short town-style driving at the weekends. Made sense. I'm sure I can cope with longer treks when I need to. Had a loo...

Re: Anyone know what that annoying jingle is?

Is it the car wirelessly charging your phone, then not, then charging, then not, etc, etc?
Mine decides randomly when its going to charge (aka probably not random but I only notice it sometimes)

Re: D or B drive

I don't trust the combo of ACC and B which almost caught me out twice when I tried it in town. All the best Andreas Can you elaborate on this? When you're not too careful with where you rest your hand you can inadvertently activate 'set' for the ACC. This is a bit awkward if it then leads the vehic...

Re: Wall charger install costs?

VW Arnold Clark in Glasgow pointed me towards Scottish Power. They subcontract Everwarm to fit a domestic charger. Total cost £899. The OLEV grant of £350 reduces it to £549. In Scotland we get an additional grant from the Energy Savings Trust - have to jump through a few hoops, but worth it for ano...

Re: My favourite error message so far

When I say "Hello ID3" she starts some soliloquy and talks over my instruction, so I have to repeat it, to which she replies with an instruction on how to use the voice control...
And so we go round in circles lol.
Any tips?

Re: Paint work: how’s it holding up?

I don't have any specific advice, but thanks for posting this topic. A bird (probably a pigeon, some live 2 doors down) shat on my roof a day or so ago & thanks to this post I've just gone and washed it off. Paint was fine.
So.
Thank you!

New owner 3 weeks ago

Evening all. Just joined. Collected my new car 3 weeks ago and I love it! Passengers have described it as being like driving a smart phone  So it's called 'The Gadget' (for now). Looking forward to virtually meeting you all on here over time & sharing views & tips on the id-DOT-3 Cheers...
