Re: App/car/podpoint conflict
My podpoint is functioning ok. But since I got the 3.2 software update even though I set the max charge to 80% it has charged to 100% a couple of times. I use the timer on the charger. The only things set in the car are the battery care mode and 80% charge limit. Anyone got an idea what I'm doing wr...

Many thanks. The app opens your my VW account and the connected services option does nothing. That makes it easier.

Re: 3.2 installed at the dealer today!
Got 3.2 installed at the dealer on Monday/Tuesday. Had to go back as the automatic matrix headlights stopped working. Ok now after another two hour visit. Got a message on the app now that I don't have a contract for online mobile services. Click on that and it takes me to the my Volkswagen website ...

Re: Tyre wear
My car has about 9500 miles now and came with Bridgestones. I rotated them at about 5000 miles and have around 3mm all round now so reckon I'll get 12000 miles before they are at 2mm when I will replace them. These tyres have a reputation for fast wear (not helped by starting of at 5.9mm and not the...

Re: Replacement R18 Tyres for ID3?
Yip driving on a flat wrecks the sidewalls. 10 miles I'd replace that.

Re: Replacement R18 Tyres for ID3?
I wouldn't worry to much about the plug it'll probably outlast the tyre. I've used rats tail type plugs for decades on cars and motorcycles and never had one fail. Why are you replacing the tyre? If its in the middle of the tread any decent tyre shop will be able to take it off the rim and effect a ...

Re: Range
I presume from your name you were doing the run from Omagh to Belfast and back. I used to do this run the other way around about three times a year to the Council offices in Omagh. So know it well. I did it once in the ID3 in February22 before I retired last March. The run from Omagh down to the Bal...

Re: ID.3 Irish road trip report
Thank you, that brings back memories. Conemara is wonderful. I believe I stayed in Ballyconneely when I was there - probably the hotel no longer exists, but at the time the head chef had just won a big award and the food was amazing. Roundstone also great - I'm sure there's a good pub there? O'Dowd...

Re: ID.3 Irish road trip report
Thanks for sharing. We retired our Leaf24 to the kids driving lessons and bought a 2021 ID3 last week. I'll be driving Dublin to Westport this weekend to visit family and was interested to read your experience here. Shame that the CCS charger in Westport was not working because I'm planning to use ...

ID.3 Irish road trip report
Hi Folks I wasn’t sure where to put this but I though I’d share my recent experience of a mini tour to the west coast of Ireland with my missus to celebrate my recent retirement (at 60 so I’m not completely decrepit……yet!). We left Belfast on the 27th of March with an 80% Charge as our first stop th...

Re: New ID3 disk brakes after 12k miles!
Did the tech show you the discs? I had this happen twice with new cars a Citroen Xantia in 1995 at 6k this was caused by a sticking caliper overheating the disc. In 2002 I had a Seat Alhambra exhibiting brake judder at 10k. This was a manufacturing fault. One part of the disc was softer than the oth...

Re: Range
Take a look at https://ev-database.uk/car/1306/Volkswagen-ID3-Pro-Performance for a more realistic view of range. I picked up my ID.3 on the 21/01/2022 its a heat pump family model and range varied from 2.2 miles per kwh to 3.7 miles per KWH or 127 miles to 214 miles range depending on use case with...

Re: Real world cost?
I had a look at the costs when I changed from a Hyundai Ioniq PHEV to the ID.3. I'm retiring in 10 days but working up to Feb 2020 I had a 5 mile commute and about once or twice per month I had work related journeys of up to 204 miles round trip. TBH the ioniq was perfect for that as I could commute...

Re: First road Trip 1500 miles
Good report. I live in Northern Ireland and bought my ID.3 In Kent via DTD so my first trip was picking the car up fully Charged in Gillingham. A few trips In London to see my offspring and an overnight stay then a trip up to Liverpool for the boat home with one stop at the Banbury instavolts. All v...

Re: We Charge Go
Hi Folks, just an update on collecting my new 58KWFamily Pro Performance From JCB Gillingham last Friday. My wife and I flew into Gatwick Saturday night and stayed with my son in Tooting. We collected the car at JCB on Friday at 1.00pm (it was charged to 100% as requested) and went back to Tooting (...

Re: We Charge Go
Aye its a nice part of the world. Quite often avoid the A75 altogether and run up through new Galloway and the single tracker to New Luce then the run down to Cairnryan past Castle Kennedy or up round Penwhirn reservoir......no traffic on those roads

Re: We Charge Go
Thanks for all the help folks. I'm picking the car up from Gillingham so Rugby is 130 ish miles away according to ABRP with the same again to Liverpool. I was hoping a 100% charge would get me to Rugby and ABRP recons that an 86% charge will get me to Birkenhead with 20% to spare. I only live six mi...

We Charge Go
Hi Folks, I'll be picking up my New ID.3 in Kent and driving it to Liverpool or Cairnryan to get back to Belfast. I believe the Ionity chargers are reliable and may plan my stops to either destination based on the Ionity network. It looks like I can set up We Charge Go for free.(see below) But I was...
