Re: 2023/24 INSURANCE RENEWAL PRICES
I have read that EV insurance premiums have pretty much doubled and I am fearing the same when mine comes up for renewal in a few weeks. My understanding is that it is mostly down to the much higher repair costs for EVs experienced by insurers and actually I find that credible. Repairs on the elect...

Re: 3.2 installed at the dealer today!
Is anyone else having trouble with their car waiting an extended time for parts? I took mine in for the 3.2 update on 4 July, it’s still there; that’s coming up on 7 weeks now with no end in sight. After the update failed they decided the culprit was a faulty electronic control module, J519 I think ...

My understanding was that any car charging done at peak times will be at off peak rates, but any other electric usage at those times would still be at peak rates?

Re: Window winder buttons - Journalists just don't get it
I agree, the online manual means it is not very accessible for an extended study. I like to read the manual from front to back when I get a new car, but I haven’t got very far with this one after 18 months.

Re: Guessometer broken after 3.2 Update
Yes, a well known bug in the app. In fact look a few topics down from this one “can this be true 88% equals 137 miles” for more on this subject. The second issue at play here is the inherent inaccuracy of the guessometer. It is only a guess and is based on the consumption of your recent driving. It ...

Funny, I offered both keys when mine went in but they insisted on keeping only one. Maybe that’s why it failed!

Re: 3.2 software update cancelled
Mine went in for Tuesday/Weds this week too. It’s still there. It’s in for the update from 3.0 to 3.2. Didn’t work, had to wait for advice from VW Germany, tried it again, didn’t work again. Apparently a J519 electronic module is believed to be the cause of the issue, another delay for Germany to ap...

I’m in Italy at the moment and the one at the top of the page, at a minimum, is coming out in Italian. So at least I can’t understand it!

Re: 3.2 installed at the dealer today!
I managed to get through to my dealer today, can't get me booked in till October, will try some alternatives tomorrow as October is a joke. Much like the VW UK website and systems. This is from the UK website, Needless to say that 0800 number doesn't work, the max number of digits after the first z...

Re: Dealers and 3.0 software
Contacted local dealer and car now booked in for 3.0 update, unfortunately having to wait until mid July due to dealer being very cautious on time taken to update. I feel dealer is being very honest and tends to offer "worst case" scenario when quoting times - quoted "up to two days&...

Re: 3.2 installed at the dealer today!
WeConnect doesn’t seem to have any more functionality. I thought I could see if it was locked etx.. At the top of the page on the app, to the left of the words “My Volkswagen”, mine shows a locked padlock which I presume indicates the car is locked. It might take a few seconds to appear. More obvio...

Re: First full day
I know what you mean about the A75 with the seperate speed restrictions for HGV's. When I drove this road last year as I approached these signs I'd hover my foot over the accelerator which would keep it to the speed I was travelling at and press SET on the ACC. I know its a bit of a pain but its th...

How can you tell if your car is in line for a battery recall/test? This is the Ausie site, but it's a global database. Insert your VIN number and it will let you know https://www.volkswagen.com.au/app/locals/owners-service/service-campaigns-recalls Thanks Splitty! Yep, I’m in line for the battery c...

Re: 3.5 software, then 4.0 apparently later this year ('23)
After reading this I followed the link and booked my car in for next Wednesday 3 May. I’m already on 3.0 but I thought I would see what happened. Within about 30 minutes (7:30 this morning) I had an email from Lookers central customer services saying “ Good morning I have received your online bookin...

Re: ACC not calculating speed with a mobile speed camera
Driving north over the Queensferry Crossing and up the M90 my car sees a 40 zone and drops from 70. It doesn't revert to 70 until near Kinross, maybe 10 miles up the road. It's happened both times I've driven this road with ACC on. No temporary limits were evident. I did think the car might have se...
