Re: Battery degradation / Range (TRONITY)

Re: Home charging speed
Ok my issue is fixed. It was the charger. My installer told me it needed a software update to run at 32A overnight, for some reason. Then it started to trip out after a period of charging. This was solved by my installer fitting a 40A fuse, as the EO Mini Pro 2 is/was ‘sensitive’ with ID3s, so I was...

Re: Home charging speed
OP, have you got an economy 7 meter or something? I'm just wondering whether it's possible the current is taking a slightly different route to the charger at nighttime and if some component in that route could be limiting the current in some way. It might be worth posting on the SpeakEV forum, it s...

Re: Home charging speed
I dont know anything about EO unit but could it possibly have an off peak current limitation setting? Can a meter be externally controlled to limit current draw if for instance the suppliers cheap quota was running low? The latter seems unlikely! In the thread is it only on EO home chargers? Dave F...

Re: Home charging speed
I have charged the vehicle at peak rate as a comparison with my off-peak charge last night. Off-Peak 16A c 15 mph 14.51 kwh for 4 hours (Octopus Go Off-peak) = 3.625 kw/h (car data from Tronity says 13.09 kwh) Peak Rate 32A c 28 mph (have seen 31 mph when warmer) 3.72 kwh for 1/2 hour (Octopus Go Pe...

Tyre inflating via 12v socket
Apologies if this subject has been raised before but.., I’ve just discovered my tyre inflator that plugs into a 12v socket ( ie the one in the boot) has a cable length that won’t reach the front tyres. This is irritating as all my other vehicles have had 12v sockets in/near the centre console which ...

Re: EO Mini Pro Charger
I have an EO Mini Pro and use it to charge overnight on Octopus Go off-peak tariff, setting the timer via the EO app, with the car set to max charge 80%. Agree the app is basic but it does the job. I’m only getting 15 mph/3.7kw/h/16A atm, thus c, 17% charge/14.4 kwh (its double that during the day) ...

Home charging speed
Hi, I have an EO Mini Pro 2 which appears to only charge my ID3 at 3.6 kw/h (a regular 14.4kw total on Octopus Go 00:30-04:30 -15 mph) at 16A. While investigating the reasons for this with my installer, I just wanted to check that there is nowhere in the config of the car that could be set to 3.6 kw...

Re: api compatible wall chargers ?
I have an EO Mini home charger.
Then as advised here & elsewhere, set my ID3 to 80% max fill, and then set charging on Octopus Go 00:30-04:30 via the scheduled charging on my EO app.
Has worked fine so far.

Re: Petrol fill-ups vs EV charges?
I'm quite interested in this too, as my current plan is basically to keep the Tour on the drive connected up and top it up during Octopus Go hours to a maximum of 80%. If it doesn't get to 80% after a long-ish journey one night, it'll complete the charge to 80% on subsequent nights. I only intend t...
