Re: First long distance trip
Thanks for the post. Just on point 4, the ID3 in ACC won’t pass another car using the inside lane.

Thanks for the review. Agree with you re kids in the back - they sit higher esp on the isofix base than any of our previous cars.

Re: New ID3 Orderer from Ireland
It’s worth checking Zap-Map and filter by 50kw+ chargers on the map. The national grid operator (ESB) have an increasing number of 50kw and now 150kw chargers installed around the bigger towns, but you will have to plan the journey. Best coverage is around Galway city and worst is Kerry with few fas...

Sorry to hear that - I think the reduced winter range will have taken some by surprise.

Re: New ID3 Orderer from Ireland
Welcome. I was driving rural west of Ireland roads on Saturday and was overtaken by one ID3 (I was on ACC at the speed limit) and passed another ID3. Seeing more and more of them and also Teslas on the road which is no bad thing.

Re: Built in Satnav vs Apple/Google Maps
Would agree with the above. A nice feature of the in-car nav system is that it will identify necessary charging stops when calculating the route at the start of the journey. My preference currently is to use the in-car app for long journeys and Apple maps for short journeys / very specific locations...

Dave, will be interesting to see the difference between D and B - I imagine D should be better just by the fact that braking is limited but as you say, I don’t know what smart things the car might do.

Re: Winter road handling.
Thanks for the info all - so not too brilliant in the snow. Will be interested to hear how people get on in icy conditions over the winter. We will be using a lot of unsalted routes over the winter so should know more in a few months.

Winter road handling.
With the 1st frost and snows approaching/here, interested to hear what peoples experience will be of the ID3 handling in poor conditions.
Haven’t faced these conditions myself yet this year but braced for the rear wheel drive plus high starting torque providing some fun…

Re: Any motorway munchers out there?
Hi, As part of a longer trip last week I spent 70km on open motorway never dropping below 120km/hr (75mph). It was 11.5degc outside and I had some luggage also. The car consumption was pretty constant at about 21kWh per 100km. For your commute this would equate to using about 60% of the battery per ...

First Long Trip (Ireland)
For anyone interested, this weekend was our 1st chance to do a decent spin in the ID.3 Pro. Trip was 310km each way, 80km of which was on open motorway (120km/hr limit). I was interested to see how the coldish temp would impact the range as have noticed the drop the last few weeks. I did the return ...
