Re: driver side window issue
Agree with what Big GT said (you don't need your foot on the brake the whole time, just to turn the car on). If it doesn't work first time, do it again and hold for a bit longer. I have always brought them back up at the end and held the switch for 10 seconds there too, but perhaps it isn't necessar...

Re: end of PCP/ missing items query
Good morning all I bought my ID3 Pro Performance in April 2021 on a 3-year PCP deal. I've decided to hand the car back rather than take the other options. As part of the inspection for damage etc, there is a charge for missing items. VWFS want to charge £354 for a missing charging lead, which they ...

Re: ID3 battery recall class/group action
The GOM isn't much of an indicator of battery health. It's more dependent on your driving style and heating. You may also be seeing the result of the mile/km conversion bug in the app. You'll only get a sensible idea of range by actually driving a long journey, but in the meantime, check if the car ...

Re: Charging very slow
Presumably this is AC charging so a rate of 4kw is less than 40% of the advertised 11kw? And VW are saying that's 'within tolerance'? Absolute charlatans - no wonder you are angry. 11kw is three phase only. Ironically I wouldn't be surprised if it'll charge happily at 11kw on the right charger, as ...

Did you hear a clunk?
Not so much a clunk, but loss of power when I first reached about 20mph after installing. Backed off the accelerator, pressed it again, and it was back to normal, No idea why it has to go through that process.
I had that after my 3.2 update at the dealer. Som...

Screenshot_20240322-153424.png Thanks for your reply the car went into VW and it charged at 4kw whilst in there but VW have said that's within tolerance and that there is nothing else they will do.. I have a written letter from vwfs saying so in black and white which has really angered me Presumabl...

[...] So input the car's vin number into a VW recall/ service thing. […] May I ask, what VW recall/service thing is that? My car is registered in the UK, but in the past I successfully used the following VW Australia (!) checker tool that knows about UK VIN numbers as well: https://www.volkswagen.c...

Re: ID3 battery recall class/group action
Personally I feel that, while the recall has been a significant hassle due to supply chain issues and lack of competent centres that VW should have managed better, VW have actually behaved very well in offering the recall in the first place. In my case, and I believe the vast majority, there is/was ...

Re: Octopus alternative tarrif
It's worth noting that Intelligent prices in the peak period are coming down a bit in April. Standing charges are mostly going up but I think that's common to other tariffs. We use Tracker which is another good alternative. It's been both cheaper and much less hassle than Intelligent over the last y...

Re: Optimised battery use on/off
According to my local workshop, the fault which flattens the 12V battery lies purely with a malfunctioning owner. I quote: "the 12V battery is only charged WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING" (my emphasis). Also: "you don't do enough mileage". Quite what the Optimised Battery Care (or whate...

Re: Optimised battery use on/off
These cars are very interesting from a consistency view point, a friend on FB his car was parked whilst he was away on holiday, MY23 Max on 3.2 and he returned to a dead 12v battery, but the traction battery was well above what would be classed as low state of charge. This would indicate that the c...

Re: "New Settings Available" and regular reset of car settings - Potential fix
N21 - Ive just changed that setting in the App and if it works I owe you one. I've spoken to VW about this and the way it keeps messing about with my settings - It asks me if I want to apply new settings pretty much daily - VW make out they don't know what I'm talking about. They've had me sending ...

Re: Charging very slow
I definitely don't have reduced AC charging current selected as it charges properly maybe once in 4.. the port, cable, and charger are all in perfect working order.. like I previously said my Tesla for the last 8 charges has charged at over 7 KW an hour at 100 efficiency. The id3 has charged in the...

Re: Heated steering wheel defaults to being on
There are two functions that turn it on (at different temperatures apparently). In the app, settings menu, there is a function called zones. This includes the heated wheel. In the car, in the climate menu, there is a settings cog at the top. It might only appear when your hand is near the screen. Th...

Hello my wife has an id3 pro 72 plate.. when we first brought the car it would charge perfectly but the last few months it charges as slow as 1kw an hour.. Re: ID.3 GTX
I like the looks and the power. Personally I kind of wish they'd used a smaller battery to make it as light as possible but I get that the EV press would probably then slate it for its range/price point - and maybe they justcan'tdraw that much power from the 45 or 58kwh versions. Hopefully they'll h...
