Re: Official post on VW ID. Drivers Club FB group regarding updates
In the absence of any information stating what new features or bug fixes are provided I think I'll give the OTA update to software 3.2.1 a miss for the time being. I've become unwell recently and the thought of my ID.3 being bricked by an update when I need it for travelling to hospital outpatient a...

Re: First long trip tomorrow in ID.3
Last month I discovered that there are now 14 Gridserve rapid chargers (in addition to the 10 Tesla only chargers) at M6 Hilton Park Northbound services.
This upgrade has only just appeared on the ZapMap app.

Re: Are all these issues normal
My experience of the loss of keyless access is that it occurs during prolonged spells of cold wet weather and is most likely to occur on cold mornings. I also notice that it often only affects the driver side door - which when I park at home is on the side facing the prevailing weather. To date, the...

Re: Cornering Light Message Fault
Thanks for the tip. Does anyone know how the sound generator can wreak such havoc? Since this seems to be (now) a known issue as far as VW is concerned, there ought to be a fix available in software, to allow the car to function in all respects other than sounds until the faulty module is replaced?...

Re: ID.3 58 KW range
I find the guide on the EV database pretty spot on. https://ev-database.org/uk/car/1202/Volkswagen-ID3-Pro ... Indication of real-world range in several situations. Cold weather: 'worst-case' based on -10°C and use of heating. Mild weather: 'best-case' based on 23°C and no use of A/C. For 'Highway'...

Re: Charging to 100% at Home - Advice Please
Just in case it helps... Thanks for this explanation. I always thought that User Interfaces for mobile Apps were supposed to be intuitive! Only a Cariad engineer could create something as bizarre as this. To have a secondary settings cog (on the departure times section) and to assign it a colour wh...

Re: General usability questions
You can turn it off, you need an OBDeleven dongle and that will allow you to code the setting to remember your last choice. It works on 3.2. I can confirm that the Lane (Keeping) Assist default setting can be changed following s/w 3.2. Some forum members had reported problems whilst trying to actio...

Re: If you could have ONE feature
The behaviour of Predictive Cruise Control on passing a national speed limit (aka ‘derestricted’) sign is potentially dangerous. On many single carriageway roads it is unwise and/or uncomfortable to drive at the national speed limit and so you may choose to set the Cruise Control to a lower speed. H...

Re: Charging locations & German logic?
... VW could have avoided a lot of grief by including a decent manual with the car. Considering that it took until s/w 3.2 to be usable, it's quite likely that neither the Technical Literature author who was tasked with writing what passes for a "manual" nor the coders who created the in-...

Charging locations & German logic?
Up until s/w 3.2 was installed I used to set charging schedules on my charger and (other than the misleading red light at the charge socket) it worked reliably.. Following 3.2 and a failed charge, I took sidehaas's advice (see post_id=41821 ), turned my charger into 'dumb' mode and set up a location...

Re: Real fuel economy (1 whole year)
I'm pleased that some of the forum members are reporting improved 'fuel' efficiency following the s/w 3.2 update. I've haven't experienced this as yet, though my ID.3 was only updated 5 weeks ago and I've only driven ~1000miles since then - so it may be early days. Perhaps, since most 3.2 updates wi...

Re: App/car/podpoint conflict
My podpoint is functioning ok. But since I got the 3.2 software update even though I set the max charge to 80% it has charged to 100% a couple of times. I use the timer on the charger. The only things set in the car are the battery care mode and 80% charge limit. Anyone got an idea what I'm doing w...

Re: Tyre recall timeframe?
.... My two rear tyres are now at 3.2mm (approx) tread depth so will need replacing in the near future; but obviously I’d rather not pay if VW are going to do all 4 for free! Especially as they quoted me about £280 per tyre 😂 Cheers. Were they proposing gold-plated tyres or similar? I replaced all ...

Re: 3.2 installed at the dealer today!
Sorry if already answered but are dealers doing 3.2 > 3.5 yet? What advantage & functions does 3.5 provide over 3.2? I doubt that 3.5 would be rolled out for existing cars until the 3.2 "campaign" (aka recall) has been completed and VW can provide a really reliable OTA process. (They ...

They also pack away into a small bag when not in use.

Re: Charging failures following recent WeCharge OTA updates
A red LED indicates a fault and you shouldn't really see it. However it's true that with some charger types (not all) the sequence of things the charger does after plugging in with a schedule will cause the car to think there has been a fault. When I used to use my Ohme to schedule I got a red ligh...

Re: App woes following 3.2 update
My euphoria following a successful and speedy 3.2 update has been diluted by frustration with the app. The app has worked perfectly for two years. Following the update it has proved impossible to log into the car. Why VW has to make this so difficult I don't know. Should I delete and reinstall the ...

Re: Reversing ….!
As sidehaas says - "turn off auto-hold"
I also have to reverse up a very steep driveway and have found that switching off auto-hold makes this manoeuvre much easier to control and avoids the unrequired braking by an automatic system that seems to be of a very nervous disposition.

Re: Batterygate! ?
So I checked this morning, 30% battery added (17.4 kwh in theory) and 16.7 kwh supplied to the car from my home 7kwh charger. So a loss of around 5%. If the number of KWH supplied by your charger was indeed 16.7, and actually increased the charge level by 30% then your usable battery capacity is < ...
