Re: Biodegrading trim.
I have used OWATROL Polytrol Colour-Renovator with some success. It's a detailing product so not a permanent solution but should last a month or two. Here is a pic after 1 week of it half done. Needs a couple of coats but goes on easily with a soft cloth. About £20 from Amazon.

Re: Cornering Light Message Fault
Needs a new pedestrian sounder module, pretty common fault. We had ours done last year, quick and easy job, it's behind the front grill.

Re: Mobile Phone Signal
Are you sure VW use Vodafone? I get full signal in the car but Vodafone is usually poor here. EE & O2 are strong.

Re: Charging cable failed
Would the charging cable not be under warranty as the car is less than 12 months old?

Re: Official post on VW ID. Drivers Club FB group regarding updates
The dealer update was to 3.1 then there was a small OTA update to 3.2. This latest one is to 3.2.1 I understand.

Re: Scheduled Charging
I have noticed that often the half hour slots on IO are not consecutive so even if the car starts charging at the specified time it's quite likely to fail after half an hour. This maybe why some people are only getting a few kWh's overnight.

Re: Scheduled Charging
I think the problem must be with the latest chargers incorporating this 'up to 10 minutes delay' feature. What is the reason for this delay? My charger is an old dumb QUBEV installed a few years ago before the smart charger rules came in. I believe the powers that be are trying to stop, or control,...

Re: Scheduled Charging
Since 3.2 the car charging has been faultless with OI. Just set your charger to dumb mode and don't set anything in the car. It has been faultless since September when I had the software update done.

Re: Why can’t you have heated seats on when charging car?
You can turn them on from the app if they are linked to the heater/aircon. They tun off after 30 mins but you can just re-activate them.

Re: Sat Nav Routing
I live at Bont, about 5 miles from Tregaron, and regularly pass the Roadchef services on the way to Preston. I've not called there since they had the Gridserve 350kW chargers in a few weeks ago. It's 95 miles from here so about 100 miles from Tregaron and approx 190 miles from you. You should be OK ...

Re: Slow (1 KwH) home ID3 charging
I've never had it charge this low, sometimes it starts off at 3.2kW but I check the app and restart the charge if necessary.I read somewhere that a very low charge is when there is a connection problem with the car and charger. Just look into the socket for any bits of grit etc.

Re: Which charger?
As the car is compatible (and works reliably) with Intelligent Octopus you only need a dumb charger, Ours is a QBEV but I haven't seen them about recently. The only caveat is if you only have a 60A service fuse, you may need a charger with load balancing.

Re: (Yet another) Intelligent Octopus sign-up question
Yes, that makes sense, but not really any reason to delete the location unless you move home. The OP is about signing up to IO hence my advice to set and name a location.

Re: (Yet another) Intelligent Octopus sign-up question
If you don't set and name a location in the car when you go to another location to charge, ie public charger, Octopus would trigger a charging schedule for you. You are correct that Octopus say to delete all other locations except your home one.

Re: (Yet another) Intelligent Octopus sign-up question
It is important to set a location and name it, I used 'home'. If you are not in a great signal area but your WiFi is strong add that to the car too. If you have a smart charger make sure it's set to dumb mode. My test charge took a couple of goes but has worked faultlessly since July. If your VW app...

Re: End of lease review after 2 years - Pro 58kwh
No problems with ours at 2 years and 20,000 miles. All 3 updates went without a hitch (1 OTA and 2 dealer) and the only recall was for new tyres so at 20k it was win win. Love the ride and handling, quite used to the haptic buttons and not had a problem with the heater or volume sliders at night. Th...

Re: Tyre recall timeframe?
We recently had ours replaced at 18,000 miles during the 3.2 update. It was booked in about a month in advance. I don't think there is any time limit on recalls but as the tyres wear you need to get them before they become illegal. I would just keep on at the dealers, I have heard that others have b...

Re: Octopus intelligent query
I have a dumb charger so have to use the car. Been on IO for about a month now and it's been faultless. Just had a 3 hour charge this morning 8-11AM as we need to go out this afternoon. We took advantage and put a wash load on, heated the water and had an Octopus breakfast! ( full English on Octopus).
