Re: Software 3.1
I’m sure there’s been a similar argument made 10 years ago about them using email rather than sending a letter. Times change - and we’re customers of a fairly cutting edge technology (EVs) - so it’s not surprising they’re harnessing the power of social media to communicate. I’m no fan of social med...

Re: Software 3.1
I no longer have access to my Facebook account so it’s quite frustrating that this is the way VW decides to communicate updates.
Anyone else on here or on Facebook got a service appointment?

FYI it only popped up for me when I navigated through each of the tabs and went to settings.

Re: ID.3 Arriving tomorrow, but I have no idea what it will be!
Congrats! Probably the fastest turnaround from ordering to delivery that anyone on here has seen! Thanks for the update, I'm guessing that would bode well for a build week 40 + of a Max or Tour model, can't imagine they would build an older spec model and how easy that would be on a production line ...

Re: Software 3.1
It honestly baffles me that they've spent all this time and money on this software, for it to be this half baked. They could approach Google and put android automotive in, ala Polestar and problems solved. Surely most people plug in their phone anyway so why they feel the need to reinvent the wheel...

Re: Issues with Multiple Users in WeConnect app and v3.0
That’s really strange. They released an update for the app months ago which suggested the car location and other features are ready to go but require a v3.0 car. Interestingly enough, in iOS you can create a Shortcut which can either get the battery level, current car position or find nearby chargin...

Re: Software 3.1
Sigh. More waiting. I feel for all of you early adopters. When they say “later this month” that means they’ll inform us later this month right? Not that the service will be starting later this month. That’s exactly what they mean. They will inform you all of when they plan to start the 2.4 rollout ...

Re: Enabling Travel Assist with OBD11
You need to have TA switched on before it shows multiple lanes. Well yes, that goes without saying! Not necessarily- to clarify - because you can have just the ACC on and it will just show only your lane (and if there is a car on the RHS to stop you undertaking) - the other two lanes appear the mom...

Re: Enabling Travel Assist with OBD11
It’s actually like the Leon one but without fancy animations (or a curve in the road)… and all the cars in the VW screen are little id3’s 😁 You need to be in a road with multiple lanes - otherwise there no lanes to have anything in the lanes next to you 😂 The animations actually serve a purpose tho...

Re: Enabling Travel Assist with OBD11
One other cool thing of activating TA is the display on the binnacle. When you activate it instead of just having the lane ahead and the car in front the ACC is latched to highlighted in blue - but you get the lanes either side and all the cars/trucks in those lanes too. Worth scrolling to the larg...

Re: Rear seatbelt alert for child seat
Works for our kids, 7 and 9 years old. What kind of child seats do you use? Same here - the flat base of the child seat (and it’s Isofix so supported at the back) spreads the weight - so it won’t set off the bum on seat sensor… 😁 Oh I didn’t know that. Is there a way to change how it senses the sea...

Rear seatbelt alert for child seat
Hey, does the ID3 alert you when someone is in the rear seat and does not have their belt buckled?
I’ve got a child seat but no alerts come on if a child is sitting there with the belt unbuckled.
Is there a setting for this or does it just not detect children below a certain weight?

Re: Honest thoughts on our ID.3
I thought id just make a thread to share honest thoughts and a semi review of our ID.3 and to see if im the only one with the same irks or if im alone :D So we've had our ID.3 for 3 weeks now, and things are still early I know. Bear in mind we havent done any long long journeys up the A/M1 as yet, ...

Seat Leon Travel Assist
Just discovered this video of Travel Assist in a Seat Leon. It seems far more advanced than the "cutting-edge" Travel Assist in the ID3. The display reflects the car's position in the lane as well as any curves in the road. Lane markings are animated on the display as the car drives past. ...

Re: Enabling Travel Assist with OBD11
That’s very cool! What else can you add to the car with OBD11? The most useful thing is to turn the very intrusive lane assist off or get the car to remember you turned it off for every ignition cycle. Some messing with the ambient lighting, I set mine to fade in and out when going on or turning of...
