Re: D mode B mode and the motorway

I’m pretty sure the brake lights don’t show until a certain level of retardation (g’s) is reached. So if you are just feathering the accelerator pedal in B mode, you won’t be flashing your brake lights at everyone behind you, causing panic!

Re: 3.0 Software Update

From Auto motor und sport.de—> "We have found that there are currently still many vehicles with very different software versions on the road," confirmed a VW spokesman when asked by auto-motor-und-sport.de. Maybe because of the half-arsed way that VW do their OTA updates? Who’d have thoug...

Is that an MY22.5?
Not that I can tell. Seats are what I expected to be getting from a MY22.

Re: Delivery time

Same model, same performance pro, East Derry alloys, metallic paint as mine ordered the same day but mine has not even achieved status 20 and status 10 keeps moving round like jelly on a channel ferry. VW logic? I think any suggestion of logic in this whole process has long gone! VW haven’t done th...

Re: Delivery time

There is good news dripping through the filters! Another ID3 delivered yesterday into the hands of Mrs Morrishey. A *relatively* quick lead time of 6 months since September order. Judging by what could be final packing checklist for the bits and pieces in the boot, it left the factory on 22/2/22 at ...

Re: Scheduled charging and Hypervolt

Keep us updated Van. We’ve got a Hypervolt which works flawlessly with a timed charge (in the Octopus Go night window) for my Tesla, so knowing if it needs something particular for the ID3 when that arrives will be useful info.

I’m not an Android user so pure guesswork, but could the button to the left of the red one be suggesting output phone to car speaker?

I like to think it got bored sitting in a parking lot at the factory and just upped and left. I think I’ll call it Herbie.

Re: Delivery time

Spreadsheet update for you Utumno.

Dealer called me today to report the car has got itself onto UK soil. Delivery hoped before the end of the month.

Time to start taking it easy on topping up the £1.70/litre fuel - don’t want to gift too much of that to the dealer!

Re: Delivery time

Returned from holiday and asked dealer for an update.

Apparently car is “waiting to be put on a boat”, awaiting clarification if that means it has actually escaped the factory.

Looks like a few BW49/2021 cars getting delivered recently, so here’s hoping we are approaching the mythical day!

Have any of you still from BW49 2021 had any further info please or are you still on code 20?
Not spoken to dealer for a week or so, so nothing to add I’m afraid. Off to have a holiday now, so hoping there may be news when we return next week.

Re: Delivery time

Been to chat to my dealer face to face today as I happened to be passing. Small update for Utumno’s spreadsheet. It was apparently a build week 49 car and they are still of the belief that it is waiting chips. Expected delivery now March, maybe April.

Re: I dont understand car wifi?

Bear in mind I haven’t got my ID3 yet, but this is my understanding, and how other cars I’ve had had behaved with WiFi! The car doesn’t come with any data plan, you need to provide that to use the car hotspot to connect to the outside world. This is what seems relevant from the manual - the importan...

Dark mode?

I’m sure I’ve looked everywhere, but can’t find a setting for a dark mode option. Is there one I’ve missed? I find the glaring white background far too dazzling.

Re: Changes in Charge Level in App No Longer Control Car

The advice is to drive off straight away so I charge to 80% then top up to 100% when I can predict a time that I will depart. 20% only takes around 90 minutes. That’s fine, it works for your usage scenario. I’m just trying to look at alternate ways for the OP to overcome the limitations of VWs soft...

Re: Changes in Charge Level in App No Longer Control Car

Accepting that software is bobbins and it obviously *should* work, if you know you’ll need full charge the next day, just set it for 100% when you leave the car the day before. A full charge won’t do any harm to the battery for a few hours.

Re: Delivery time

Just as andrewparker says, although Tesla are trying to move away from the end of quarter rush and into something a bit more consistent throughout the year. They are also in a better position as they seemed to take less of a reaction to COVID and didn’t reduce their chip orders. I’ve also read that ...

Re: New order placed in Derbyshire

Don’t forget that installer is not just doing those 4 hours work, though. Also filling out OZEV paperwork, building regs paperwork, the initial site survey, maybe a bit of self-insurance for future ‘unpaid’ warranty work. I’ve no idea what else goes on, and it would be no surprise to me to see price...
