Re: Charge port door won’t shut

I have also had an issue with a charging port door which wouldn't shut. Tried various approaches as outlined here, but nothing would work. The little rotating pin was moving around ok, but it just wouldn't latch. The dealers have inspected today and are going to fit a replacement solenoid. Out of in...

Re: Condensation and water droplets inside headlight

Well this is bonkers. My second passenger side replacement headlight has misted up now. Booked in for an inspection at the dealers in a couple of weeks. So, replacement headlight number three got approved at the dealers today. Which is obviously good, and they say the part is readily available, but...

I know folks with a Jag I-Pace which suffered the same fate. The rat had done enough damage that the car was almost written off.

Re: Clicking sound when accelerating and braking

Well, this has been sorted now. The clicking sound has gone. From a quick run through of the work sheet, it sounds like the scope for the TPI includes dismantling the drivetrain on both sides of the car, checking some sort of adhesive bonded driveshaft joints, and re-bonding them if required, then ...

Re: Octopus intelligent query

Hi folks, thanks for all the advice here. The onboarding process in the Octopus app did not want to play ball initially, but I gradually stripped out all the controls in the Ohme app until the charger was operating in dumb mode, and that did the job. I decided to let the car control the charging ini...

Octopus intelligent query

Hi folks We're in the process of switching from octopus go to intelligent octopus. We've got an ohme charger and 3.2 software, so as I understand it we can control charging via either the car or the charger. I haven't seen an obvious recommendation to go one way or the other. The charger has general...

Like I said at the beginning that had a feeling my Tour pro might be there for sometime, looks like I was right. Dropped it on Saturday, got a call today that it's been bricked and there is nothing they can do,just waiting to see what VW germany tells them what to do. Driving a polo as a courtesy car...

Re: Service costs - they must be joking

Frankly most of this is covered by a MOT test that costs around £50. There's a brake fluid change but even with that you'd be hard to justify that price. Why do you need to measure the brake discs and pads at 20,000 miles on an EV? There will barely be a mark on them. Absolutely agree. I've said as...

Re: Dynamic Headlight Error x 7 occurances

I had a couple of headlight errors which came and went some time ago, the dealer investigated, but there were no faults logged. It does sound like you are being given the run-around by your dealer. The extended warranty situation is concerning. It seems that VW won't confirm prices for extended warr...

Re: Service costs - they must be joking

Has anyone found it easy obtaining this magical £199 service plan, as in if I was to call my local dealer once I’ve taken delivery should they be able to find the offer and take payment for it etc? I wasn't sure what to expect, having read such mixed reports here, but I asked about service pricing ...

Re: Service costs - they must be joking

Can other places service an ID3? E.g -not VW dealerships. My first service will be due next year which is 2 years from purchasing and yet the car warranty is only 3 years. After 3 years I’m going to have to start paying if things go wrong anyway so what’s the advantage of taking it to VW if I can g...

Re: Service costs - they must be joking

Yes, the service pricing is ridiculous. There are a good few threads on this. Ask your dealer if they can do you the £199 service plan (one service, one MOT, one brake fluid change), which is rather more palatable. It's not available online, and my dealer wasn't aware of it when I asked, but it was ...

Re: Condensation and water droplets inside headlight

Well, this hasn't quite gone to plan! A few months down the line, the replacement headlight has failed in exactly the same way as the original one. It's not misted up quite as severely yet, but is clearly heading that way. The original driver's side one is still fine, with no sign of any condensati...

Re: 3.2 software update cancelled

I picked my car up after the 3.2 update this morning. It turned into a rather longer stay than planned...the car had been booked into the workshop for three days, as it needed some warranty work doing, but that turned into two and a half weeks. The car passed the battery check, which was great, and ...

Re: We Connect after 3.2 Update

I've just been through this palaver after getting 3.2 installed.

As others have found, my app wouldn't let me enter an s-pin, however there was a QR code displayed on the infotainment screen when my login failed, and it linked through to a page where I was able to configure the s-pin.

It'll likely be the same again. My dealer wanted the car for two days for the battery check and (hopefully) 3.2 update.

I had a call from Inchcape today about booking in for some warranty work now that the necessary parts have arrived, asked about 3.2, and was pleasantly surprised that they could book me in for the end of the month. They flagged up the battery recall too. Their verdict was that I needed to go to thei...

This is becoming quite a common fault.

I just had both of mine replaced, same issue. No fuss getting the warranty work authorised. Parts took a few weeks to arrive at the dealer.
