Boot storage options
Coming from my MK5 Golf, I’m finding the boot storage in the ID3 quite disappointing. The space isn’t an issue, more where to actually put things. My old golf had a net in the load cover, pockets down the side etc - all equally useful. I’m sure there was an overpriced option available that I must ha...

Re: solid state batteries
I believe Toyota recently showed off a solid state concept. It’s nothing they’re planning on releasing, just as a proof of concept. We’re likely 5+ years away from seeing a production car powered by a solid state battery, but with the speed of progress in EVs, you never know. Either way, I’d imagine...

Re: Unable to set up WeConnect app
As others have reported, I finally managed to set up last night, although it still took a few attempts.
I look forward pre-warming my car this morning before heading out!

Re: Unable to set up WeConnect app
Speaking as somebody who ensures 24x7x365 uptime on API’s professionally, I’m yet again reminded what a bunch of clueless monkeys VW employ. Having a SLA of “it’ll be fixed when it’s fixed” would be sackable offence at my place! I’m giving them the benefit of it being the Christmas period and there...

Re: Unable to set up WeConnect app
I actually just phoned the We Connect team and they confirmed that there has been an outage of the We Connect services and that is still ongoing, so this may be the cause of the issue. They don’t have an ETA on when this could be fixed, but said to check again in a few days. I imagine this is low pr...

Re: Unable to set up WeConnect app
Although I've still not got my Tour, collecting Thursday morning. I went into the dealers this morning to have a look at it after it had been through PDI and whilst I was there I connected it uo the the We Connect ID app with no problem. Not sure if you are using Android but there was an update yes...

Unable to set up WeConnect app
I picked up my new ID3 last Thursday (17/12) and whilst there, the dealer tried to set up the WeConnect ID app and was ultimately unsuccessful. We had two different salespeople attempt both on the vehicle and on the app via the VIN with no success. They suggested trying an area with better signal (o...

Re: Delivery time
For anyone who has already received their cars, do dealers typically hand it over with any charge?

Re: Delivery time
With WFH measures being reintroduced, does anybody know how this will effect vehicle deliveries? I’d assume ports will be allowed to carry on as normal, but what about dealers?
Not being able to collect my car due to COVID will be just the kick in the pants I’ve come to expect at this point!

Re: Delivery time
More good news for me!
My car is in the country (Grimsby to be exact) and should be with the dealer later this week. They’ve pencilled in the 16th for collection, obviously depending on how long it takes to get to the dealer and how quickly they complete the PDI.

Re: Delivery time
Personally I think if I were to cancel my order I’d be cutting my nose to spite my face and go to the back of the queue with another manufacturer. I went through the exact same thought process a couple of months back. It’s almost like the 7 stages of grief and this is most certainly the anger phase...

Re: Delivery time
Finally some good news! Dealer just phoned to let me know that my car has now been completely built and will be leaving the factory imminently! I assume they must be getting updates fairly regularly, as it was still awaiting chips on Monday (22/11). They’re aiming for a pre-Christmas delivery, but a...

Re: Delivery time
Phoned my dealer for my bi-weekly kick in the nuts today. They confirmed that my car is STILL in the factory and likely not coming this year, considering the factory shutdowns over Christmas. I saw it coming, but it’s still disappointing. I joked with my other half that it might be here by my birthd...

Re: Delivery time
Next week is build week 47 I believe. Good point about quicker delivery once built because of lower volumes, I hadn’t thought of that, some small encouragement there at least. I’d have thought this might delay things rather than speed them up! Wouldn’t it longer to make a viable shipping load of ve...

Re: Delivery time
Has anyone with a build week between 38-40 been notified that their car has left the factory? Very glad to hear it. I don't suppose you would be able to share the first few digits of your VW factory order number if you have it (I maintain a little spreadsheet of these numbers and key dates so I can...

Re: Delivery time
My BW was week 40, and it seems like there are some people with BW37-38 currently seeing theirs enter the UK. I've conceded to the fact that, should I not get an email saying it's been built/left the factory in the next week, I'll probably not see it until January at the earliest original estimate ...

Re: Delivery time
GM in the US had between 10-30k cars parked awaiting final assembly as of August, so it’s fair to assume VW would have quite a lot more!Splash-Man wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 5:19 pm Certainly sounds like they must have a large field of cars built but waiting on chips !
Lets hope they can get this supply chain relieved shortly.
