Re: Window winder buttons - Journalists just don't get it

After 25.000 miles in almost two years of ownership I tend to agree with you all regarding the window buttons. Even though I was not sold on them at first, I am now. It is really great to lower down the windows with the help of a simple switch. It helps to cool down the car on my way home since the ...

Re: Newbie from Italy

Hello all, In a little while I am going to become owner of an ID.3 58kWh!Really looking forward to it... I am really interested in the options to retrofit the towbar since the car was a pre prepared order without the original option. Thank you for the opportunity to share information and opinions! ...

Re: Bike Prep?

Yeah, SeaSuckers could work on the metal roof. I’ve heard that they’re not great on a glass roof. Seasucker work great on glass roof too. I have yet to try them on carbon or aluminium but rest assure it works on glass. Not on the glass roof of an ID3 according to this post… https://www.speakev.com/...

Re: Bike Prep?

Sorry to start a new thread on this. I am looking at getting a bike carrier for my next ID3. I was holding out for VW roof bars but its not going to happen. Seriously considered bars from other suppliers as well for my existing ID3 but decided to stick with VW recommendation that the roof is not su...

Re: 80% battery charge vs full charge

I had no idea about the 40% in the winter, cheers for the tip. I plug the car to my wall-box every evening anyway .

Re: ID3 range-ometer just cannot be believed

Have you tried to pre-condition the battery by turning the air-conditioning on from your phone ? It helps during those frosty mornings, especially for the first miles ! Regarding the range-ometer I tend to rely on the exact battery percentage on the middle screen. Using ABPR and Tronity together giv...

Re: 80% battery charge vs full charge

Hi ok so my ID3 is a business contract hire so I'm not ovel;y concerned about long term battery erosion BUT : If I only charge to 80% as recommended it's as if I've lost 20% Battery capacity anyway - Is this really any worse than charging to 100% and topping up less frequently? Also at the end of 3...

Re: Bike Rack

Do you or anyone else know the max weight the tow hitch can take? I want to put 3 x 25kg bikes on so a total weight of 75kg Well it looks like your needs will outweigh VW's tow hitch limit :(. Mine says up to 3 bikes and 75kg. A full suspension e-bike sits around 25kg, and you have to count the wei...

Re: Bike Rack

Thanks. That looks great. Have just bought the Thule XT3. I've always had Thule roof bars so know how reliable and easy there are to use. Just waiting for my car to turn up now! The XT3 is a great rack and it never disappoints ! Though it is quite of a heavy one by itself sitting at 45ish lbs. Yet ...

It depends of the type of bikes you have and how long you plan on keeping the rack. My very first rack, a 20 years old Thule, is till going strong and parts such as the rubber strap are still available.

Re: Hello from the South of France

Welcome to the forum.. I'm guessing you'll have fewer winter range anxieties than us up in the 'frozen North'. Don't worry mate, I'll make up for the lack of cold by testing out the cooling system of my battery during summer. But we do have wind in common, wind gusts up to 60mph today and the ID.3 ...

Re: Bike Rack

Hello, I may be able to answer most of your questions. As a tow hitch I have the one from VW, but you should know its load capacity ain't much. I think it's about 65ish kg of capacity. But it's plenty enough for my needs. As a rack I own a Thule 925 Velocompact 2. As someone working in a Bikeshop I ...

Hello from the South of France

Hello everyone, Here is my first 'proper' message. Mark, 39 living in the South of France, close Pezenas like many other POMs . I took delivery of my moonstone grey ID.3 Business Pro 150HP and 58kW on the 19th of October this year. I've already passed the 1000 miles barrier on the odometer ...

Re: Has anyone used WeCharge in France?

Hello, in France it is quite of a rip-off when it comes to Ionity! Though, through WeCharge it is cheaper. The WeCharge free is 0.79€ per minute, We Charge Go sits at 0.55€/min when We Charge Plus is at 0.30€/min. As someone living in France I would recommend the Chargemap card in addition to WeChar...
