Re: ID3 servicing.......... simply explained

On coming up to two years, dealer informed us it was necessary to have our ID3 serviced if we wanted warranty to remain valid. £190 for very little. Told me the batteries are healthy (knew this from the software upgrade earlier this year when same dealer produced battery health report). Also advise...

Re: 3.0 Software Update

If you think my post was a response to you, then you are mistaken. It was a clarification for all readers from your point that Intelligent Octopus was not available to ID3's, when, in fact, it is. There was no requirement to read your original post for that statement to be made. The only compatible...

Re: 3.0 Software Update

You can use the ID3 with intelligent octopus, you just need a compatible charger. Yes, if you read my original post I mention that my charger is not smart, I have relied on ID3 software for scheduled charging, until it got broken. In comms with Octopus I was told they are not able to communicate wi...

Re: 3.0 Software Update

Assuming you have regstered your VW Account (We connect) with an accurate email, the information with regards to the battery recall would have been emaied to you … Yes, I received email from VW and phone call from dealer, both saying battery would be upgraded and software updated to latest version....

Re: 3.0 Software Update

The issue I have is that my year old ID3 was on 2.3 and I was quite happy with things. Six weeks ago I received a call from my dealer saying there was a recall which would see a new 12v battery fitted and upgrade to version 3.0 of the car software. They had the car for three days, fitted a new batte...

Re: Joined the club - first impressions and queries

Re charging. Go to vehicle/charging/locations and set your home location, then for that location scroll down and you get a list of schedule options. I use this reliably. Plug in early evening, charging set between 00:30 and 04:30

Re: Charge to 40% .. pause .. charge to 80%

Thanks all. I’ve not used departure time at all. I’ve only used the home location with 4 hour period to match cheap tariff, and that has worked faultless. It was only when I’ve tried to set a top-up to 40% immediate that things have not worked as expected. Have only just had the smart charger instal...

Charge to 40% .. pause .. charge to 80%

I am on Octopus Go, get cheap rate between 00:30 and 04:30. We try to keep the charge between 40 and 80%. I am controlling charging from car software (2.3) rather than home charger. Under home location in charge sub menu I have it set to charge between 00:30-04:30 and t9 stop if it gets to 80%. This...

It’s no big deal in the scheme of things, and I suspect future software updates will see improvements.

Re: First trip away from home

>The solution is to simply not turn the climate control off. Sounds good, but if I leave it on as you suggest there is a constant airflow which I prefer not to have. The demist works very well, a blast of a couple of minutes clears the screens, I just wish turning it off returned climate control to ...

Re: First trip away from home

> Press the Climate button then touch the Standby? Doesn't that switch it off? That turns everything off and sets temp to Off. Typically I have temp set to 20, AC off and fan as low as it will go. Pressing the demist button behind steering wheel puts fan into high and AC on. Once windows clear, pres...

Don’t seem to be able to get a setting which works for all conditions. I’d be happier with the Off switch actually turning the AC off rather than down.

>. What kinds of "things" did you find yourself having to do? Mostly related to climate control. If windscreen steams up and I press the button behind steering wheel to delist, when I turn that off after a minute it doesn’t turn everything off/return to the state before turning on. It leav...

But otherwise, how did you enjoy the journey (or not)?
It was great, the car encourages a laid back driving style. The ACC was very good. Only criticism is reliance of screen to do most things. Okay when there’s a passenger but means relying on voice when solo.

First trip away from home

Have had our ID3 for about 4 weeks now, Family pro with head up. Range is reporting 183 miles at 80% fairly consistently. Did our first trip from West Midlands to Edinburgh last Sunday, returning yesterday. I’d planned the stops with plan B and C, intending to use gridserve 50kWh chargers as much as...

Re: ID.3 LED headlight adjustment for driving on the right (NOT Matrix LED)

This is why the auto on our car is a pain, nothing causes it to alter from full on beam for approaching traffic, have to intervene manually which sends you round the loop described above.

Re: ID.3 LED headlight adjustment for driving on the right (NOT Matrix LED)

Matrix shouldn't dip for oncoming vehicles, instead they should selectively clip the beam so everything around the car in front is illuminated, but not the car itself, in effect putting a car sized/shaped hole in the beam for the car in front. I’m using the term dip to cover what you describe. If I...
