Re: Discovered quite a blaring fault
I thought I'd share an update on this one: my local VW garage has had my id.3 for the past 4 weeks. They're in talks with VW Technical, but I understand it that no one really knows why this is happening, nor how to fix it. I received a call yesterday to ask whether I use a steering-wheel lock. I do ...

Re: Discovered quite a blaring fault
Hi shire-dweller, Thanks for the considered reply 🙂 that's interesting to know about the IO charging behaviour and I wasn't aware of it. When I correlated the IO schedule to the horn, I appreciate I was taking a bit of a leap. It could still be entirely coincidental and I've (thankfully?) not been a...

Discovered quite a blaring fault
For the past few months, I've been very occasionally woken up by some selfish little toe-rag laying on their horn for literally minutes at a time in the early hours of the morning. Several times I've gone to the window to offer up my best death-stare, but I've never managed to track them down. Until...

Re: Intelligent Octopus Woes
Here are the results of my experiments mixing IO (Intelligent Octopus) with infotainment-based and charger-based charging schedules over the past week. Nice write up :) thanks. I too found it counterintuitive and frustrating that charging starts immediately on plugging in. I found mine takes about ...

Re: Clicking sound when accelerating and braking
It was quite a few months ago I shared the audio clip of my id.3 doing this. Just to follow up, it went into the dealer, who firstly claimed not to be able to reproduce it. I had to go back in and drive with a technician. Took 5 seconds to replicate. Then they claimed the brake pads had a bit of pla...

Re: snags post delivery
2, wipers not auto wiping, i have enabled in vehicle settings and set stalk to int but wipers just seem to be working intermittently and not automatically, am i missing any settings or is this for the dealer? I had this and mine was caused by a rain sensor that hadn't been bonded to the windscreen ...

Re: Clicking sound when accelerating and braking
Ooh, interesting. I've been on the cusp of posting something similar myself. Yes, I've started getting a click when either braking to a stop or accelerating from a standstill. I tried rocking the car back and forth on the driveway between drive and reverse and can quite reliably reproduce it. It's a...

Re: Electric drive warning
I had it flash up briefly after only a couple of weeks of ownership. When it went in, the dealership said if there's even the briefest of interruptions to the flow of coolant for the high-voltage battery, it can cause this error to show up. In my case, they flushed and bled the coolant and touch woo...

Re: Rain Sensor
Hi a.d.e. I've had an issue with my rain sensor, which I posted about here https://www.id3forums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2319 Long story short, my sensor wasn't bonded to the windscreen properly and there were air bubbles in the gel used to affix the sensor. I took it to the dealership who ha...

Re: Battery lost 20% overnight
This probably isn't the best example because this was a configuration issue, but if there was any reason for why your car was communicating with WeConnectID or if the WeConnectID system was updating or if there was some communication issue with your Home Assistant server to the WeConnectID system y...

Re: Inadequate Wiping on Auto Wipers
Quick update. I booked in a service appointment, but called in a few days prior to check if it was an easy fix. I was told the bracket/sensor housing is bonded to the windscreen, but not the sensor itself, so it shouldn't be a problem to fix. Fast forward to today. I dropped it off this morning, but...

Re: Battery lost 20% overnight
The jump is interesting - have you worked out what the effective kWh drain was ? Morning. The drop would equate to between 9-10kWh I think. That graph makes it look scary, but I don't think the app refreshes unless asked to, so assuming you weren't up all night refreshing your phone the 'drop' is j...

Re: Battery lost 20% overnight
As a thought, could the remote air con have been accidentally engaged overnight at all? Don't think so. I didn't manually turn anything on and don't have any schedules. If you look at the graph, it's not as though the battery slowly depleted through the night, but rather it was reporting 69% all th...

Re: Battery lost 20% overnight
Looks to me like a problem with your software route, there is nothing that can make the battery instantaneously lose charge like that and I've never heard of anyone reporting something similar from WeConnectID although that's plausible. Sorry, what do you mean by software route? I'm only using the ...

Re: Battery lost 20% overnight
and what did it say 'In-car'? No errors or anything, just the battery percentage and range much lower than when it was left. I'm going to charge up to 80% tonight and keep an eye on it. On Friday I should be giving it a charge to 100%, so I suspect that could be quite telling if there is a battery ...

Re: Battery lost 20% overnight
I thought that question might get asked
It's Home Assistant, which I have running on a Raspberry Pi under my desk. Some legend developed a module that integrates with the WeConnect ID API, so I can see stuff like this:

Battery lost 20% overnight
Hello - me again, having recently posted about my faulty rain sensor. Not having a great time with the id.3 recently regarding faults. Anyway, the car was parked on the drive (unplugged) last night with 69% charge until 06:55 when it dived straight down to 53% and then a bit more before my wife took...
