VW have launched a GTX trim level. This video also talks about other changes to the whole range, such as a larger battery and 5 seats for the Pro S.

Re: Am I better off just ignoring range completely or is it a g)itch in the app
The value you are seeing relates to a known issue with the app, where kilometres are converted into miles in error. 140 miles indicated by the car is low (assuming you have a 58kwh battery). I would interested to know what happens if it set the heating to a lower value, say 18 degrees. Does this imp...

A colleague is buying his first house and said he was worried he was buying at the wrong time. I replied, the right time to buy a house is when you want to move.

Re: EU Mandatory Speed Limiters. MY22.5 Tour
Looking at the latest models being launched most manufacturers are opting to add a form of alerting system to remind the driver they are over the limit. This can be switched off at the start of each journey.
As for the id3, my 2022 model has this feature, but it can be switched off completely.

Did you test drive an ID3 prior to purchase.
As there often seems to be a lot of negativity around the ID3, I was curious to know if you test drove the car prior to choosing to order.
I’ve added “test drives were not possible” as an option to cover circumstances where one may not have been available / possible.

Re: VW app update
Yep, there are plenty of other features I would prioritise. I had this feature on my last car and only used it a handful of times. It’s just a gimmick. Constantly amazes me how many people get emotional on the internet (mostly Facebook) about the inability to lock their car from the app. I'd quite l...

Re: Naive question about car finance
I’ve leased a couple of times and it worked out cheaper at the time due to volume discounts and stock deals that lease companies can negotiate (both of the cars I leased were runout BMW stock). My current car is on PCP as there was little difference in monthly cost when options were added to the car...

Re: 3.5 software, then 4.0 apparently later this year ('23)
I doubt it’s the end of OTA for the current ID models. They will just be buying time to find a solution to the unreliability of updates. They’ll need to find a one or risk a backlash from other VW drivers who can’t book something as simple as service.

Last night swiftly booked my car in via the VW website for v3.0.
This morning the dealer calls to cancel it as they know nothing about it. Face palm.
They asked, “don’t contact us, we’ll contact you”

Seems the UK won’t be seeing the larger central screen…
“Due to the right-hand drive configuration the UK screen will be 10” (12” screen shown will not be available).”

Re: What Lays Ahead?
As is always the case, forums are the way that many people can complain about elements of their vehicles. There are very few people who would register and post that their car had performed faultlessly and so you don't tend to read about them. Our ID3 has just done 20000 miles in two years and so fa...

I remember the glory days when an ID3 was eligible for the plug car grant and was sub £30k. That was only two years ago.

Pleased to report my software update and battery swap went without a hitch on Wednesday and the staff couldn’t haven’t been more helpful and informed.
The disparity between dealerships is mind blowing. I consider myself fortunate. Couldn’t recommend Hayselden Doncaster more highly.
