Re: Bogging Down Pulling Out Into Roads

Nope, in fact I've found this car to be great pulling into traffic. I've had to retrain myself to take advantage of smaller gaps!

Re: Significant HV battery drain whilst parked.

How has it been going since the last update? My own update is good: I made the long trip from Spain to Finland successfully, with no problems at all. :) Still plan to book the car in to the local dealership to have them have a look at it, but that won't happen soon unless something pressing comes up...

Re: Significant HV battery drain whilst parked.

An update (if anyone is following 😀) Well I'm still here. :D I don't know if mine is still draining (assume yes) because I've been using it here in Spain, so it never sits long enough for me to know. I'll be starting the drive back to Finland in a week, and still plan to talk to my dealer once I ge...

Re: Significant HV battery drain whilst parked.

More seriously - is there a fuse to pull to disable the hv battery - so when I leave it at the dealer it won’t carry on dropping (until it’s zero etc..)? I was wondering the same thing myself. There is one fuse in the fusebox which is specifically tagged for emergency crews to pull in order to disa...

Re: Significant HV battery drain whilst parked.

I arrived in Spain yesterday as planned, and found the HV battery was down to 12%. When I left the car here in early January, it was at 62%, so it's lost 50% in four months. Not good. When I started the ignition the first time, it threw two errors, "Airbag" and "Electric drive failure...

Re: Significant HV battery drain whilst parked.

Yeah I was disappointed to see that in the other thread. :/ At this point I'm definitely thinking it's a good idea to at least carry a good 12 V battery in the trunk, and a 10 mm spanner, when I make the long drive!

Re: Significant HV battery drain whilst parked.

Well my car is back to "12 volt battery too low" when I try to do anything from the app, so either my father-in-law turning on the ignition didn't really reset the power budget completely, or my 12 volt is toast and not taking a charge. I'll be in Spain in 4 days and find out.

Re: Significant HV battery drain whilst parked.

If it helps - the 12v go for a drive warning turned into a 12v issue - visit workshop and about 48 hours after that it died. That timeline might be useful for you knowing when to intervene etc. Thanks for the tip. When I go to Spain, I'll be there for a few weeks before making the long drive north,...

Re: Significant HV battery drain whilst parked.

Quick answer is no. It won’t work with a dead 12v battery. But was fine with a temp replacement the recovery guy put in. Thanks. Yeah, I was considering the possibility of swapping in a healthy 12V battery in Spain and then talking to the dealer once I get the car back to Finland. Or, if things see...

Re: Significant HV battery drain whilst parked.

Little update on my car's drain: Over the past 5 days, it's dropped 6% on the HV battery, from 43% to 37%. Definitely something amiss, looks like the same problem. I'm expecting to be reunited with the car in just over 3 weeks, and will start to use it again. Hopefully it is actually usable at that ...

Re: Significant HV battery drain whilst parked.

Well I’ve just got back - battery from 73-55% in 7 days. Straight to a 12v battery warning. No idea why. Anyway - I’d guess that was the issue that’s been causing a drain on the HV as it recharges the 12v. This battery is 2-3 months old (after 2.4 update)… That is quite interesting, because in my c...

Re: Significant HV battery drain whilst parked.

Interestingly, my ID.3, which sat several months over last winter and lost only 2%, has lost 18% whilst sitting for three months this winter, 6% over the past three weeks. It is not just you!

Re: USB C Sockets power

I never verified his findings, but a friend of mine reported that the rear sockets do USB-PD power and the front sockets do not. So, depending on your device, you may find the rears work faster.

Re: Recharging/maintaining 12V battery

For reasons beyond my control, "tomorrow" turned into "10 days later", but my father-in-law did get to the car today and it turned right on and he said that it said something about charging, so perhaps it indicated on the display that it was charging up the 12V battery. It is now...

Re: Recharging/maintaining 12V battery

Aha, thanks for the information. A lot in there I didn't know. I don't have 3.0 yet, so what you're describing is probably exactly what has happened. Actually I use the app itself very little, but I've got VWsFriend set up, which is probably effectively the same as using the app almost constantly. :...

Recharging/maintaining 12V battery

My usage pattern means my ID.3 spends the winter a long way away from me, where it sits idle for a few months. Last winter, I noticed that at some point during the winter, I was no longer able to access certain functions in the app, because the 12V battery was too low. I didn't need those functions,...

Re: Alarm goes off every night and day

Sounds like it's probably not your problem, but maybe helpful for someone else: If you have a Bluetooth OBD dongle plugged in and then software (ABRP in my experience, but possibly others) accesses some of the OBD data, it will set off the alarm. I've just gotten in the habit of pulling out my OBD d...

Re: Update in progress ... For weeks 🙁

You might try rebooting the system by holding the power button (to the left of the climate controls below the screen) until the screen goes black and the system restarts.
