Re: Software 3.1

Genuine question - who wants games in their car? Certainly not me but maybe I am a minority. I can't believe VW have prioritised this. The rest of the update looks quite nice - mostly how they should have done it to begin with but better late than never. Not convinced I will ever see any of it in m...

I'm on 3.3 miles/kWh for the last 5000 miles. Quite a lot of motorway and the rest just round and about. Motorway is mostly 65 - 70 mph ...

Re: 12v battery life

@f080421 In the end I got a replacement transformer? that charges the 12V battery from the main battery and they also replaced the 12V battery as that then showed a fault. I haven't had any problem since then  i wonder whether I will get another replacement 12V battery when 2.4 etc is rolled ...

Transformer failed

I kept getting 12V battery warnings (Drive the car to charge & Visit a workshop) so VW Assist took the car to the garage some 45 mins away as the closer garage doesn't have a technician who can deal with id.3s apparently. They said they couldn't find any faults and that the 12V battery was fine....

Re: Totally dead

Once it's on 2.0 or later the car monitors the 12V and tops it up from the "drive" batteries if needed, in theory you shouldn't get a repeat. Unfortunately, my 12V problems have only arisen _after_ being upgraded to 2.1 (0792) - secondtimme showing 'drive to charge' message despite drivin...

Re: 12v battery life

After getting my car back from the dealer with no reports of any errors and the question "did you leave the ignition on?" we then took a trip to Surrey - 80 miles, left the car for three days and then drove back. This morning I get the 'Low battery drive the car to charge' error - same as ...

... I have a VW Leaf, courtesy of VW Assist - ... I always thought those were made by Nissan? I got my car back (and handed back the Nissan Leaf) but the garage said a) they couldn't find anything wrong with the battery once they'd charged it and b) they couldn't find anything causing a drain on th...

Anyone know if you can retrofit the VW carrier to a 1st? I've got an Altera towball mounted bike rack on my California and i could just swap that over.

Re: Software 2.2?!?

I doubt this. My dealer told me the whole point of 2.1 was so that after that all updates are over the air Yes, that is what I understood as well so I asked again and got the same answer... We shall see ;) - my car has been taken off to some far flung garage with a 12V battery error and I have a VW...

Software 2.2?!?

So my ID.3 has got a 12V battery error telling me to take it for service - VW Assist is coming to recover it. However, whilst phoning around trying to find a dealer who could deal with it I spoke to VW MK and was told that 2.2 is now released for install but not OTA! Has anybody else heard this?

Re: Octopus Tariffs

Shame the best estimate they can give me for a Smart meter install is 'around 12 months.. ' I changed from Bulb to Octopus as they got me a smart meter more quickly but I haven't been able to download any half hour readings since December 28th! Octopus haven't managed to read it either and after a ...

The dealer says that 2.1 has been installed, but had no documentary proof - just salesman ‘word’ How can I verify this, other than the bug fixes is there any single obvious 2.1 software feature I can establish is present. Where do I look for an installed software code? Many thanks Look under settin...

I only get 7 or 8 mph with my granny charger. If I switch on the AC to warm the car up this then drops to 2 mph! The plug does get warm but not excessively. My Granny Charger was £165 from Screwfix - couldn't justify the Zappi chargers etc when we're mostly at home but I'm on Octopus so i use Alexa ...

Re: New ID.3 with Transport Hitch/Bicycle Carrier Prep

I had my first outing yesterday with Thule bike rack fitted. Everything worked well. The only issue was that I couldn't get the key out of the tow bar lock. Amy ideas? I have an Atera rack - the key is stuck in unless you have fully locked the rack. When attaching the rack to the tow hitch this oft...

Re: 12v battery life

So... ID.3 upgraded to 2.1 on 19 March - today I have a battery warning saying “drive car to charge” - never happened before, even if the car was quarantined for a few days. So I went for a 40 minute drive - no change. So I connected a battery charger which says 12.6V. Is this happening in to anyone...

Re: Thud/Clonk sound at low speed turns ?

I have a 'knock knock knock' sound from the rear under strong braking. Perhaps our cars are just trying to amuse us? I had this when we first picked the car up in September. We were up north at the time but it was a bit worrying so I took it to the dealer as soon as we got back. By then it wasn't s...
