Re: Experience at a Tesla Supercharger
Used Tesla charges quite a bit in the UK and they've been great - no problems at all. Tesla also have better coverage for non-Tesla cars than Ionity in some European countries such as Spain, and cost around 0.53 Euros for PAYG use in France/Spain.

Re: Remove key from unhitched hitch bar
My VW tow bar also retains the key when removed, which had me scratching my head for some time. Seems to be by design.

Re: Replacement R18 Tyres for ID3?
Thanks for the replies. Having looked at the spec for Continental EcoContact 6 tyres, Continental claim they have 'Conti-Seal' technology 'designed to seal a damaged tyre tread' which sound like the extra advantage I was after. So I will have a hunt for a set of 4. Thanks again for all your help. I...

Replacement R18 Tyres for ID3?
Can anyone recommend some sensible R18 replacement tyres to replace the original Bridgestone Turanza tyres on my ID.3 please? The old tyres are standard 215/55 R18 95T Bridgestone Turanza Enliten Eco types and the car is a Life Pro Performance 58kW ID.3. Ideally, I would like a tyre with anti-punctu...

Re: Charging with bikes/luggage box on the back
We drove 2,800km through France with a bike rack on the back and had no trouble at all backing up to a charger, be it large Ionity chargers, Tesla chargers or small Hotel 7kW chargers. This was with a Buzz Cruiser 2 bike rack.
Hope this reassures you.

WeCharge has 3 subscription options, form pay-as-you-go with no monthly fee, a medium monthly subscription and lower charging fees, and finally a heavy usage subscription with higher monthly fees and even lower charging rates. https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/electric-and-hybrid/charging-and-range/we...

Re: WeConnect network outage - again
Offline since Sun 11th, no 4G connection on car (VW won't let it use the available Wi-Fi, of course). Pulling Fuse 19 restored the 4G connection to the VW server but no App control yet! Amusingly, the outage happened just as I was demonstrating the remote A/C function to someone interested in gettin...

Kt's worth checking the driving Mode as I found that mine had changed after the battery and software update.

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
My dealer say the battery replacement is only 3-4 hours, but it's the software update that is problematic, often breaking at 70% complete and the whole process restarted. One car took them 3 days! My car's booked in so we'll see how long it actually takes, but I'm pencilling in for a few days witho...

Re: Can you use strap-on Bike Racks on an ID3?
fordfocusman - Great, many thanks for the info. I had another look at the tailgate on another ID3 and can see that you might get away with it if you were really careful fitting it, didn't drive over any potholes or go too fast, but I'm not sure I'd drive at motorway speeds for a long distance. I als...

Re: Can you use strap-on Bike Racks on an ID3?
Thanks for the quick replies. I suppose I was really asking "Is the tailgate strong enough to take strap-on bike carrier?" and Utumno's comment about it being plastic sets the alarm bells ringing, together with the 'no you can't' advice on the Roofbox website. This is annoying as my bike i...

Can you use strap-on Bike Racks on an ID3?
Hi all, In the many posts about bike racks, I've only seen people talking about tow bar or roof mounted bike racks. Can a strap-on rack be used at all, or will something flimsy break? I've not yet taken delivery of my used ID3 so I don't have an easy way to find out in advance. PS I only need to car...
