Re: 3.2 software update cancelled

Hi No you’re not alone - my garage in Swindon have cancelled my appointment for the second time and I’ve had to make another appointment for July. Apparently VW communications with garages is extremely poor, and they’ve just been told to stop doing upgrades. I’ve no idea why some garages apparently ...

Re: 3.2 software update cancelled

My id3 was booked in for Monday this week but it was delayed by a nominal 2 weeks because VW told them that no updates would be attempted until fewer cars failed the update. I’ve no idea if they will carry out the update at that point. The one thing I’ve learnt is that VW communication is appalling ...

Re: Dealers and 3.0 software

Had a call from my VW agent to say that I can’t take my id3 in on Monday 5th for the 3.2 software upgrade because VW have encountered so many failures to update. It’s now booked in for 19th so 🤞.
Hopefully they’ll find enough experts to get on top of their software problems soon but who knows?

Re: Unable to load connection status

My grey-ed out globe (offline) problem took 6 days to 'cure' itself. VW might be known for their cars, but at this rate they'll never be known for their slick software! I've been waiting 4 months for version 3 but I guess that's not a record?

Intelligent Octopus

I've just had an email from Octopus energy to tell me that ID3s can now use Intelligent Octopus. The drawback is I need software version 3 but don't have it. VW are a real pain - how does one contact VW uk except through the local agents? They have no idea what the roll out of version 3 is. Has anyo...

Re: Chargers at camping sites

There is a limit as to how many 7/22Kw chargers can be installed at any one spot which depends on the local mains supply. Without additional supply pylons many areas will never have enough capacity. It's a local supplier ( and government) problem. The government was so keen to go green but as with d...

Re: Does ACC see traffic lights? How to try out ACC without pranging it?

No the ID3 is not a hands free car. It doesnt recognise traffic lights but does a reasonable job slowing at many junctions. It will only brake the car to a halt behind other vehicles already slowing and stopping. Even the road bends it is aware of often have incorrect speeds shown. The answer - driv...

Re: For octopus customers

Io was not available to me with my ID3 yesterday. Part of the email from Octopus goes ' Unfortunately Intelligent Octopus is not currently compatible with ID models'. So I'm not sure how others have been switched. There was no mention of my charger brand - which incidentally is a Wallbox Pulsar Plus...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement

Wonder if you have your car back yet - and has it been successfully updated. Mine has been put back over 3 weeks because the VW agent can't guarantee it back in 3 days! Is this what VW call service?

Re: Intelligent Octopus - VW Availability

I'm interested in this too and enquired about 3 weeks ago. I've just checked the Octopus website again and seen the small print:

*VW ID models are currently excluded

But I hope it comes soon - along with Wallbox compatibility.

Re: Pod point scheduled charge not working

We had initial trouble using the Octopus Go 12 30 to 4 30 am crazy cheap timer with Pod,point. It seemed a bit erratic and then I read that an previous post to just set the timer for every day of the week and then just use the days you want to. Everything seemed happy after that. I did notice the r...

Re: Yet another mundane question.......

"Back in the day" ;) when I had an ICE car, I would put the car in the garage overnight. Unless it was wet. Now with the ID3 what do others do when their electric car is wet? In my infinite wisdom I had my Zappi charger fitted inside the garage. I have probably got a serious case of OCD! ...

Re: Octopus Go New Tariffs

Don’t forget the Octopus Go rates are fixed prices for 12 months and with a large increase in costs due it’s surely worth moving to Go?
