Re: Software Update
I got a warning about an impending click when I got out of the car this evening. Nice to be warned at least!

Re: Podpoint and id3
Thanks @the.kes It’s a holiday let so I don’t have access to the app for this unit. However, we nudged the letting agent who nudged the owner who reported back they had ‘reset’ the unit and now it’s working fine. It’s supposed to be activated by the key, but there must still be some app stuff at pla...

Podpoint and id3
Hello forum brains, I’m staying in Anglesey at the moment, the house has a podpoint solo with no attached cable but I’m have no luck charging. There is a physical key to turn the charger on. So I turn the key on and get a blue light. Connect the charge lead to the podpoint Connect the charge lead to...

Re: Solar power and battery charging
Octopus website still suggests “Right now, you can’t be on Octopus Go together with Outgoing Fixed or Agile (the price is so good it’d be like a double discount!) Instead, we’ve created a great export option just for Octopus Go customers. On Outgoing Fixed Lite, you’ll export power at a rate of 8p /...

Re: Solar power and battery charging
Interesting feedback folks, thanks. I’m not on a fixed plan so maybe switching back to Go and Octopus Outgoing would be possible. I’ll reach out and see. Yes @DelayedID3 I too wish I had gone a big bigger on the battery front, an extra 5kw would have been useful. Hopefully the next car will have som...

Re: Solar power and battery charging
Hey @foreverwaiting 👋 You have a similar setup to our house, 10kw of battery, 16 panels chucking out 6.4kw max, Hypervolt as well! Only, difference is we are on Octopus Flux in order to get the higher export rates of 17.02p/kWh from 5am till 4pm and so pay 16.81p/kWh for 2am to 5am charging. We can ...

Re: Octopus Plug nCharge is here
Yes, the same happened to me, although I had to update my VW connect app to activate the install button.
I've not used the Elli thing either, but I have used Ionity. I think the point here is to start to get a bit more joined up, so it would be good if there is one certificate to rule them all.

Re: Tesla charging - where in the app?
My Tesla app is exactly the same as sidehaas has shown. Not used it yet but all seems good to find chargers and pick the one you want to use etc. Hopefully using it for the first time next week. Thanks folks I see in the screen from sidehaas there are three dots to scroll through, but I only have t...

Re: Winter range
Just a thought/question... I use B mode most of the time as I like the feel of the car and the one-foot lazy driving. My wife uses D, which I find a bit too pokey Is there a winter benefit of D over B or B over D?

Re: Winter range
Hey guys - interested to know what kind of drop off people are getting. I have seen similar figures here, around a 20% drop off in these colder days. I did Midlands to Torquay at the start of the year (M5) which in summer is an easy run with juice left over, but we had to stop at Cullompton ionity ...

Tesla charging - where in the app?
In preparation for some Tesla charging with a non-Tesla vehicle.… I've got the Tesla App, logged in, and given them all my info, but I can't see the Non-Tesla Charging or Charge my non-Tesla option. Am I missing something obvious?

Re: Id3 Charging locations
Maybe reducing the places where there are schedules. With my charging, I let the charger do the scheduling, not the car. The car is set to suck power up to 80% whenever it can. It does mean I get a few notifications about not being able to charge when I connect once home, but then come 2am it kicks ...

Re: Zap-Map vs ABRP
Just a nudge on this topic, any new apps out there? I'm planning a family trip from Nuneaton to Torquay in the next couple of weeks down the M5 car park. I've got a few chargers bookmarked for almost there and while we drive around locally. 100% charge will get us there easily, and then I'll top up ...

Re: Use of BP Pulse charger with We Charge Plus card
Same for me today with a WeCharge card (PAYG) No luck with the BP Pulse chargers in the underground Asda car park. Also no mobile reception so no way to call and get remotely started! Gave up and just parked elsewhere in the car park. It was good to see the car park signs suggesting a £200 fine for ...

Re: First long(ish) journey report
Great to hear you made the journey there and back ok! We did a longish journey last weekend. Nuneaton to London (Kew) it was 110 miles there and similar back. I had a couple of charge stops planned in for the return journey, but we didn’t need them despite M6 closures and a few extra miles detour. G...

Re: Remove key from unhitched hitch bar
Yeah it does. When the tow bar clicks in the key is turned to lock it in place. As you see in that video, and other videos on the same subject, it seems the key does stay in. I remember when it was delivered the key wasn’t in and I am pretty sure I also removed the key before packing it away, but ma...

Remove key from unhitched hitch bar
I swear I’ve done this before and I must have because when I came to use the hitch today the two keys were in the bag separate from the bar.
I had to unlock it before inserting and then locked it in place.
Now home I’ve unlocked and removed but I can’t get the key out.
Any ideas?

Re: Optimised battery use on/off
Some really interesting comments here thanks folks.
I’m still not sure what effect the button might have. I open the app once or twice a day and after a few moments it seems to update the data ok with that switch off (when I am logged in to they car!)
I’ll leave it off for now
