Re: Software 3.1

Just rang my dealer about combining my 15th July ID3 repair with the 2.4 update. You will be surprised to hear that they know nothing about a 2.4 update and it’s not on their update system… Usual clown show. Did you tell them to have a look at the VW website? Yes I did. She didn’t really know what ...

Re: Software 3.1

The obvious communication channels for VW would be email, the WeConnectID app (don’t laugh) and probably the VW press release website. I suspect I’m one of a growing number of people who see social media as a toxic dung heap best avoided… I have my car booked in on 15th July to correct a fault, I’ll...

Re: D versus B safety

I drive in B mode the whole time and feel like it supports braking when I really need it ( probably an illusion). I use ACC wherever possible on major roads and the braking works very well, although at times it’s a little heart in mouth. As I’ve said many times I think weight of the ID3 and how the ...

Re: Software 3.1

So in summary.
We don’t know when we are getting 2.4 and we don’t know when we are getting 3.0.
And for Gods sake don’t contact the dealers about either because they know less than that.

Re: Software 3.1

I have my ID3 booked in 15th July to correct the ‘SOS error’. Hope it can tie in with this 2.4 recall so I don’t lose the car for another day.
But very unlikely I guess. I might bother the dealer anyhows. Customer first and all that …

Re: Software 3.1

I think that's a bit unfair given the context, which is that they said they would give an update by the end of June and they have been hounded for it ever since. This is actual progress ie it's central VW saying they have now passed out the information to national groups and dealers will have it im...

Add in the government removal of the plug in car grant and It’s all rather depressing.

Re: ID.3 107KW Family Pro 58kWh - Thoughts?

Not sure how many of these lower powered ID3’s there are about. About 60bhp less than the 204bhp pro performance. Mixed driving motorway and urban might give you 3.7 mi/kWh or so in the summer. If it’s more urban 4 is achievable. I think it would probably have enough ‘punch’ my main concern would be...

Re: Is this... too punchy?

I recently travelled from Yorkshire to Colmar, near the Swiss border, and back in my 58kw 1st edition. No problem at all, although only 2 of us! I used Ionity the whole way, with the WeCharge subscription which easily paid for itself. The ID3 is a roomy golf size. I’ve had 3 adults in the back and a...

I think do whatever is cheapest whilst keeping it between 20 and 80% is the most logical advice.

Re: Software 3.1

VW should be telling us when the 2.4 campaign will start in the next week. Nothing at all on the German forums. Complete radio blackout on the next steps re 2.4 and 3.0. I don’t believe they promised that, I believe they promised an update on the rollout dates. That update may well consist of “we’l...

Re: if in doubt, turn it off and back on?

Are you on v2.3? If so, a bit surprising you are getting that level of ‘glitch’. The only thing I’ve had approaching that is when the satnav lost gps and it through a total wobbly. In general ‘if in doubt, turn off and leave for an hour’ mostly works. Although clearly you may not be able to do that!...

Re: Road trip to france!

I’ve just done a trip to south of Germany. Looking around Paris, Ionity via the WeCharge card, should easily cover your needs. 1. Download the Ionity app 2. Use the directions on it to find the charging station, via Google or Apple maps. It is very accurate in terms of specific location. 3. Maidston...

Welcome! And enjoy the car.

Re: Renault Megane e-tech EV pricing

This is the new reality, and one that’s here for years. At the moment they are getting a bit too close to Ionic5, EV6 and M3 territory (although I guess all of those will be going up in price soonish(?)) Just adds to the anti EV bandwagon and leaves a 2030 deadline looking doubtful imho… The 2030 d...
