Re: Unable to load connection status
I've had this happen a few times but it hasn't happened for a few months now, my car has had several of the control modules in it changed and I wonder if it's one of these units which was causing the problem. It used to be that the units did a reset every 8 days so if your coms stopped for any reaso...

Re: Delivery time
I presume that they only applied for the grant when the car was assigned to me. The grant was only available to individuals, not businesses so I can't see how they could have applied for a grant if it was a car for their own stock.

Re: Delivery time
My order has been on status 10 almost from the day it was asigned to me (was a July pre-order by my dealer). I've had build weeks of 6, 20,19,21,27,33 and am now when I last checked it had been bumped to week 40. Being status 10 doesn't really mean much. Mine's got an order number of 3136.... It see...

Re: Delivery time
When you try to connect it ensure you are in a good 4G signal area. Make sure it's the We Connect ID app, not the We Connect app.

Re: Keyless Entry - Safety Issues
The keys go to sleep after they have been inactive for a few minutes, so that would cover most cases of trying to lock the car after the key has miss-advertently been left in the boot as it would still be active for a few minutes.

Re: Keyless Entry - Safety Issues
I've turned off the proximity un-locking of the car and just use the contact with the inside of the door handles to unlock and outside to lock. My parking space is close to the front of our house and with an armchair near to the front wall, I wasn't confident that the car would remain locked when I ...

MY22.5 rapid charging speed.
Now that the weather has warmed up a bit and there are some lucky bods with MY22.5 cars out there, what are the maximum charging speeds that you are seeing on your 58kWh or 77kWh cars (please state which)?

Re: Delivery time
I've just talked to my dealership and the build week of my replacement car has slipped again and is now week 40. It was originally week 6, then hovered around week 20 or so for a few months, then moved to week 27, so that's now 34 weeks from the first time it was at status 10. It's still status 10. ...

Re: MY22/22.5 Clarification
Are you very fussed about different seats and some extra sensors? Because the battery change and update to the 3.0 software will be available as a dealer update later... Looking at VW's track record, we've had one over the air update, after a dealership update which involved changing the control un...

Re: Delivery time
I guess the government has worked out that £1500 is now the cost of 15 tanks full of petrol and that they no longer need to subsidise EV's in order to sell them.

Re: Cracked windscreen
Mine was replaced by Autoglass on Tuesday, they said that the screen came directly from VW as there are no pattern parts for it yet. He said that they had done another ID.3 the previous week and that their Boreham wood branch was changing one on the same day. It didn't sound like they were having di...

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car
There's some clever programming of the wiper motor operation. I presume that they are stepper motors which allow them to move in controlled incremental steps. As the speed of the wipers increases in heavy rain the nearside wiper doesn't return to the fully down position to ensure that the wipers don...

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car
I've just had a cracked windscreen replaced on my 1st edition and had an opportunity to look at the windscreen wiper system. There are separate motors for each of the 2 wipers and it looks like the blade shafts are in the same position. but here's the problem. The bottom 12 cm or so of the screen is...

Re: Cracked windscreen
From what I've gathered there are a couple of companies who manufacture the screens for the ID.3 and presumably it will be one of these who supply Autoglass. I've seen them do a few screen replacements where I work and they always appear to do a good job. I'll be taking some pictures of the screen a...

Cracked windscreen
I came out from work Yesterday to find a 40cm long crack in my windscreen, it looks like it started at the bottom of the screen and moved upwards. There are no stone chips in the screen. Yesterday was a warm day here with heavy showers. I presume it was caused by cold rain hitting a warm screen. I'm...

Re: 3.0 Software Update
We were all sold a car with the promise of over the air updates to improve the car with time. If this is denied to the early cars then that amounts to miss-selling to my mind. Class action everyone?

Re: Error drive , go to workshop
Mine did this, the first couple of times turning the car off and leaving it for 20 minutes to allow it to reset itself was enough to get me driving again to the dealership. When they had it, it failed completely, the eventual solution was changing the steering column PCB with the steering column dis...

Re: LHD Wipers Fitted to RHD Car
It's probably unlikely to be fixed on existing cars, but could be redesigned to reverse the motor/ gearing and moulding for the wipers for Right hand drive cars. Really it should have been done in the early design stage then they could ensure that there is enough space allocated and mounting points ...

Re: New owner, Loving the ID.3
There's lot to enjoy about the car. it's a real wow when you first drive the car and see how it behaves. As with all cars there will be a few things that make you think I wish they had done that better, but on the whole they have got the car about right. The software is being improved all be it slow...
