Re: EV routing in Maps on iPhone

Short answer is no. Google can do the same - but your manufacturer has to buy into Google’s system. Polestar and Renault do. Don’t know who is supported by Apple. At the moment it needs to be ‘in the car’ rather than on the phone so it can get the cars SOC and present consumption to work out where ...

VW UK Move to an agency model for ID cars

I'm not sure what difference this is going to make in the long run but I noticed that the VW UK website now contains a notice indicating that the ID range now follows "Manufacturer's Direct Price (MDP)" https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/en/legal/mdp-explained.html like the Cupra Born range aka ...

Re: Has anyone tried Plug and Charge?

I've used it with WeCharge on three different Ionity Chargers (Perth, Polmadie and Alwnick) and the point is that it should support different eMobility providers.

Re: Still disappointed with charging speed

The best I've seen on my 3.2 from Factory ID.3 is 119kW at an Ionity. I set out deliberately on a summer's evening (29th August 2023) to get that DC charging speed doing what everyone has said above (longish Motorway and A Road drive) - drove up and down the dual carriageway outside Perth to get the...

Re: De misting performance post 3.2

I've altered my behaviour to adapt to this to see if it helps in humid Scotland. If I want to warm the car up for a predictable departure time then I do this so it has finished before I go to the car, or I don't bother so that the demist works when I'm in the car. So far it has worked but I'm still ...

Re: Tronity subscription - or not?

I decided to pay the small amount for the data - I still find it interesting and hosting / development costs money. If an app is free then I wonder where the money comes from. As ever I'll review at renewal time.

Re: Lose app after 3rd year?

Pretty sure you have to pay after 3 years in an eGolf. I've never seen anything suggesting costs for the ID range but I don't expect it all to be free for ever. When you first 'buy' weconnect and weconnect plus for free after the update to 3.x, it claims to have started a new 3 year contract for ea...

Re: Is charging slower with V3.2?

I was really pleased after getting the dealer update to software V2.4. Our 2021 ID.3 was noticeably faster on all types of charger, getting nearly 22kW on the 22kW ones in Glasgow. But since installing V3.2 it seems to have slowed again. I couldn’t get more than 50kW on one of BP’s 150kW chargers l...

Re: We Charge by Elli

Hi all, I do some fairly big miles in my Id3 and looking for the best nationwide charger network, and I think that We Charge looks pretty good. With the top package (£13.99 a month) it says that the cheapest KWH is at 'Selected Partners at 44p kWH' - I can't for the life of me workout who that migh...

Re: Ionity plug n charge stopped working

Slightly off-topic but on-topic if you know what I mean, I used electroverse to charge today and was interested by the plug & charge option. I didn't know that it was possible to sign up on supported ID cars with someone other than WeCharge. Only Ionity support plug & charge but such is.... ...

Re: Ionity plug n charge stopped working

Yeah, there’s another thread active around a similar topic. I’ve noticed Plug & Charge has disappeared for IONITY chargers in the app as well; I’m wondering if IONITY has discontinued this functionality. I noticed it had disappeared too but when I visited Ionity at the Triangle in Perth this ev...

Re: ID.3 2024 facelift

Thanks AlistairL. With the infotainment system being integral to so much of the experience a car delivers these days, this will hopefully improve the driving experience along with fixing common grumbles with the UI. I'm also in the process of planning my next upgrade / purchase. The 2023 facelift i...

Re: ID.3 2024 facelift

It's been advertised that the ID.3 will get an updated 12.9 infotainment system (along with backlit volume slider controls) some time in mid-2024 for the UK market. Has anyone read or come across evidence whether other markets (ie in Germany). have already received the bigger infotainment units in ...

Re: Relatively cheap new ID3s

That deposit contribution on the facelift suggests demand vs supply is back to "olden days" - will make the residual on my ID.3 quite painful but should have a shorter wait next time! From what you say, do you mean you are possibly happy to get another (facelift) ID3? Yes, very happy with...
