Re: UK first (2 year) service quotes/costs

This is a copy of my post in January last year ….. VW call centre contacted me to book my 1st Edition in for its 2 year service, quoted £288. I asked for a cost breakdown for the work to be done, when he said changing the cabin filter was £84 I told him to forget it! Changed the pollen filter myself...

Re: ID3 servicing.......... simply explained

On coming up to two years, dealer informed us it was necessary to have our ID3 serviced if we wanted warranty to remain valid. £190 for very little. Told me the batteries are healthy (knew this from the software upgrade earlier this year when same dealer produced battery health report). Also advise...

Exactly the same thing happened to me too, I guessed VW had a server problem, it’s OK now.

Re: service light issues

I still have the ‘Service Due’ warning message coming up at every start up after having the car serviced properly at my local indi garage several months ago. VW asked for £80 for a ‘one time use’ code to do the reset which they declined. The local VW dealers are unable to help due to company policy....

Re: Tyre wear

Hi Lukep,

I would get a second opinion on the tread depth before considering spending any money on new tyres, there are some very unscrupulous dealers out there ready to ‘lift your leg’

Re: ID3 servicing.......... simply explained

Hi Monkeyhanger, Thanks for your detailed reply, I shared this with my Indi. He was aware that OBD11 and similar packages may have possible solutions. Problem is that newer vehicles with online systems which are connected to the manufacturer can throw up issues if unlicensed interventions are detect...

Re: ID3 servicing.......... simply explained

I posted this in late January and thought it’s worth repeating. There are alternatives to being held to ransom by VW, they have shown no empathy for many iD3 owners and in some cases dealerships too, they are not your friends, all they are interested in is taking your hard earned money:- VW call cen...

Re: Bridgestone Turanza Enliten tyres

To reach the front wheels you may have to open the front door and pass the cable from the power point in the boot and through the car.

Re: Tyres, Jack and repair kit anomaly

Our 1st Edition came with self seal tyres but no Jack, wheel brace, repair kit or compressor. It now has all of them at very little cost following a slow puncture. The puncture was due to a small nail which had gone through the tread at a 45deg angle. The young fitter at the local tyre centre took t...

Did you try laying the compressor cable through the car and out through the front NS door?

V2H Capabilty

Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess has revealed VW will add vehicle-to-home (V2H) capabilities to its electric vehicles this year. EVs powered by the company’s 77kWh battery will receive an over-the-air update, letting drivers plug into a bi-directional charger to power their homes. V2H is a type of bi-di...

Re: Where is the pollen filter?

I’ve just had a look at my pollen filter, I doubt there is an easier one to change in any car.

Incidentally, should there be 2 filter elements, I only have one and it can be installed at the top or the bottom which indicates to me that there should be 2 ?
