Re: Greetings from sunny Yorkshire

I'm also in Yorkshire (West). It does take a bit of time to get over the anxiety, but so far - best car I've owned I reckon. Motorway journeys with ACC go so quickly and painlessly.

Re: Volkswagen cuts EV production Citing Strong customer reluctance

I reckon it might also be a case of VW having to aggresively catch-up with those orders which were delayed due to World events leading to parts shortages, but the backlog has maybe mostly cleared?

Re: Octopus not so intelligent

If you're using a Zappi V2, there might be some good news on the horizon. MyEnergi (Zappi makers) just told me that they've extended their API for better integration with IO. Testing due in a few weeks' time. That's my preferred way forward - leave the car as-is and drive charging automation via the...

Re: Octopus not so intelligent

I almost jumped to IO, but realised that the Zappi V2 wouldn't be able to push excess solar to the car in Eco+ mode.

So, stayed on Go for now.

Re: 3.2 software update cancelled

Part of my day-job involves working on update mechanisms for home devices like - gateways/routers, TV streaming boxes and various Internet infrastructure kit. We deal with fail-safe, fall-back, disaster recovery etc. but the signing, encryption and validation of fiiles and images is fundamental cruc...

Re: 3.2 software update cancelled

Word on the street, is that VW was hosting corrupted files/images on their servers, which they've now corrected.

Re: Intelligent Octopus & ID.3 - success story

I almost went for it, but there's a complication with our set-up. We have panels and a batteyr behind the Zappi V2, so we use solar excess to go into the car. IO doesn't really cope well with that at the minute. Might work better when Zappi V2 gets the IO automation.

Gone back to Go.

Re: Intelligent Octopus Woes

So, we've just initiated the shift to IO.

I can see a problem here. We have solar panels behind our Zappi, so it looks like we might not be able to channel excess solar into the car if Zappi is set to fast!?

Anyone else with a similar system?

It's been a 2 person effort when my wife and I have attempted to remove it. A bit of left-right wiggling does seem to help though.

Optional retro-fitting could be good at some point in future, if it works out.

I was there. I didn't see any VW company representation. VWs were on show at the JCT600 stand. Even Ford were there, which was a surprise.

3.5 software, then 4.0 apparently later this year ('23)

Looks like the new models are getting v3.5 software, which puts more of the control buttons onto the touch surface. Also reading that 4.0 is planned for later this year. Very interested in knowing if there's anything exciting in the major version jump. Any rumours? Only thing I've read, is that feed...

Re: Refused to stop being in charge mode, and wouldn't release charger!

You can stop the car charging from the charging menu in the car. As I mentioned above - I tried that. Didn't (immediately) work. You can also stop the car charging and release the plug by pressing the unlock button on your key fob twice. Again - tried that. If I could not make the car stop charging...

Yes I did try that - unlock didn't turn off the green light.

Refused to stop being in charge mode, and wouldn't release charger!

Just hit what seems like another bug! Charger port was displaying green and wouldn't release the charger, despite neither car nor Zappi indicating any charging was happening. Rebooted the Zappi - no effect. Rebooted the infotainment system - no effect. Went into car's charger settings, moved the cha...

Re: Stuck charge port

Had this last night. Cured by pressing and locking/unlocking with the key fob. Hope it's not damaged anything.

Think it may have happened due to car timeout locking just at the point where I was closing the flap...?

Re: Unable to access climate control screen

Just had the same thing last week. Soft reset cured it. Wonder what else might have been not working in a non-obvious way?

Aren't we due a software update beyond 3.0 / 3.2 anyhow? Wonder if there are rumours...?
