Don't rely on the accuracy of Tronity. It does a very simplistic calculation.

Re: Octopus charges but not Intelligently

Do others' IOG apps show "Charge to reach"? It would show that if the car was the controlled device. Generally the charge point is preferred, if compatible, since VW's infrastructure is considered rather less reliable. The latest version of the IOG onboarding process requests car then cha...

Re: Octopus charges but not Intelligently

As I understand IOG the Zappi needs to set to 'dumb' ie FAST. Only if IOG controls the car. If it controls the Zappi, it must be in ECO+ (in fact it will be commanded into that mode by Octopus). Any Boost setting other than STOP is fine, that doesn't matter. The important thing is to ensure there a...

Re: Octopus charges but not Intelligently

Which is set to be controlled by IOG: the Zappi or the car? You're sure there are no schedules set in the car or on the Zappi, and the Zappi has good connectivity to the internet?

Re: KWH Charging Rate

No. Charge rate (in kW, not kWh) is determined in a "conversation" between the car and the charger. To achieve maximum charge speed you need to plug in with a low state of charge and a warm battery.

Why were you "expecting about 100kW"?

Because the fob goes quiescent and stops responding to "pings" after it's been stationary for a few minutes.

Re: My Volkswagen App Issues

1. Well known and widely reported. Fixed in 3.5.

2. There are settings which determine what comes on when you remotely activate AC (or when using departure times).

Re: Help ....Charging Flap

Is there any way to get at the flap from inside the boot? Yes. Look on the right side inside the boot for an unobvious perforated flap in the lining, a little lower than you might expect. Undo it, opening up the perforated outline. There is a loop on a wire which you pull down. No. That does not re...

Re: Battery SoH on a used car

And the obdeleven can turn it off completely and so be removed from the obd2 port. Is that the correct understanding? It can be set to remember its last setting . If you have it on for a journey (for use with Travel Assist, for example) and don't turn it off again, it will be on next time you start...

Re: Battery SoH on a used car

Is Carscanner considered one of the better readers to get? I’ve been thinking about getting one just to see what more info I can see but more importantly to turn off Lane Assist if that’s possible? You can't turn it off, but you can arrange for it to remember its last setting. You will need OBDElev...

Re: eSim vs wifi

The car doesn't use wifi. There's no point connecting to a home access point.

As for why it can, there's nothing stopping you using a mobile access point on another device for something like internet radio.
