Yes, it works, I am unable to open the car even if I am standing next to it, when the key is inside the pouch.

Thanks for the prompt response. The keys are in a special pouch inside the house, about 5 meters away.
I will have a look at the wireless option you mention. But I still don’t understand how they would come on and stay on then.
