Re: Insurance prices
Nope, the hype is real ok - its a bloody cartel Nicely put! However... are they turning the screws on ICE drivers too? To be clear all my insurances (car, home, breakdown, ...) have jacked up quite a lot this year but comparing the various numbers it didn't feel like owning an EV* made anything muc...

Re: If you could have ONE feature
Fewers taps to turn the heated steering wheel on and off (why is it not available on the Smart Climate tab?).

Re: First year
I run with all the assistants in the default mode (on) and haven't have any problem with ignoring the nudge on the steering when I don't want it. However I did have a fun experience on the M4 the other day when the ACC detected, incorrectly, that the speed limit was 100mph and adopted that as the cr...

Re: Random Question...
I love the fold down arm rests in the centre of the car... so its a shame they are so in the way when you want to load something long. Having said that I did fit some 2400mm timber for a project in the car (with the boot shut). However the wood was pretty skinny so it could negotiate the arm rests j...

Re: Insurance prices
When I insured my ID.3 in June it was pretty reasonable, only slightly more expensive than it's predecessor (which was a 2009 diesel). I suspect the headline was rather overblown. When you look at the average costs further down the page you find that the averages have electric cars about 13% more ex...

Re: Key fob issue
Just replaced batteries in both key fobs. Suggest avoiding cheap CR2032 batteries! I had no luck with any of the cheap ones I keep in stock for other uses (which work fine in other equipment). The dealership can sell VW OEM batteries but when I said I first said I was having problems they suggested ...

Re: Charging failures following recent WeCharge OTA updates
What firmware are you running on the charger and when is there any chance that the change that broke things was on the Wallbox not the car (FWIW Wallbox releases a new firmware for Pulsar Plus on 27 Jun this year).

Re: Wireless Android Auto after 3.2 update
Do you have a smartwatch? I found the putting my watch into airplane mode boosted reliability a lot. It takes two to tango and, sadly, there's plenty of ways for your phone to contribute to connection issues!

Re: Considering ID.3 Max Pro
The things I like best about my ID.3 is simply that it's a nice place to sit. It is just delightfully uncluttered whilst still retaining an instrument cluster and being a proper hatchback! Of course one person's "uncluttered" is another person's "not-enough-buttons" so you have t...

Re: ID3 Map Keyboard - I this how it should look?
Actually, I just realized the keyboard on my ID.3 is more complex than the screenshot at the top... if I could get it looking like the one at the top of the thread I'd be very happy.

Re: ID3 Map Keyboard - I this how it should look?
I don't understand the issue, they are not added as extra keys, and you have to long press to get the option for the extra characters? Removing them isn't going to make the keyboard layout any different. I found having labels diagonal corners of each "key" screws up they way I target the ...

Re: key not working after battery change
If I understood it correctly there's an "emergency" sensor in the cup holder that allows keys with a dead battery to start the car. You can use the physical emergency key to open the door (the alarm will go off) then put the key in the cup holder and press the "ignition" button: ...

Re: Boot 12v giving strange readings
Don't know much about the ID.3 side of things but for a standard 12v battery then 14.6v is high, but not crazy during fast charing (so if the car can fast charge the auxillary battery its fine). Similarly, 11.3v is low, but might be OK if the fridge draws a lot of current when the compressor is runn...

Re: Tyres, Jack and repair kit anomaly
I have Ring RAC601 with a 290cm 12v cable and about a foot of air hose. I was able to reach all four wheels but only but leaving all the doors open and routing through the middle of the car...
