Re: Zappi always charging at 7.4kw even in eco /eco+

Not wanting to hijack the thread at all, but has anyone heard anything about a potential issue with MyEnergie as a company? Are they in trouble? I have to add though that my dealings with them have been nothing but positive. My understanding is redundencies are happening, and some 'restructuring' is...

Re: New Member Introduction

Heskie,

For what its worth, I find 95kph a nice 'sweet spot' with a bit of occasional 120kph for overtaking, I'm seldom in a hurry. Seems to be a good balance and the range seems to be maxxed, all a bit subjective of course.

Re: New Member Introduction

Well done Heskie. You may buy an ID3 for a lot of reasons (environmental, fuel savings etc.) but you'll be surprised by some other things like the ride quality and comfort. Shifting all the weight from the front ICE engine to a flat evenly distributed weight under the floor is a game changer in my v...

Re: UK first (2 year) service quotes/costs

What you are effectively paying £200 for is a pollen filter change (5 minute job), and getting the service countdown reset. I don't care what VW mandate, they are clearly trying to give dealers some leeway to claw back some money. In fact, any good mechanic will tell you NOT to muck about with the b...

Re: UK first (2 year) service quotes/costs

The brake fluid change is a total make work scam. There's nothing in the cars brake design that would indicate this is necessary, only required if a brake bleed was required for air or water ingress into the system or other major problem. If they state its to do with the 'regenerative braking system...

Re: App not working!

Thanks again Sidehaas. So it seems contacting the hotline number works. I was offered a 1 year free extension of the App through my Volkswagen account, was able to do it on the phone and the service returned immediately. Have to say, apart from the running around trying to figure it all out, kudos t...

Re: App not working!

So this is turning into a right old faff! Decided to ring VW and dedicate an hour to this, had to take screeshots of car screen, phone details, give version numbers for phone software, check car connectivity, blah blah blah...... It has now been 'escalated' but the nice lady on the phone admitted it...

Re: App not working!

Thanks sidehaas. Spent two hours going around the shop, site etc trying to find we connect/we connect plus. The only service offered is We Connect Start, and as I said, I've requested that and am getting an 'in progress' notification, and that I will receive an email when the service will begin. Thi...

App not working!

Hi, Same as below, App has stopped bang on 3 year birthday of car. When I went to the VW store and mucked about a bit, I'm getting a message the 'We Connect Start is In Progress', will they will be in touch soon, is this the new version of the App, is it a case of wait and see? Great fun this stuff ...

Re: Advice for purchasing used

Bought an 18 month old car on seeing it by chance in a local dealership. Was looking to go EV, so dived in without even a test drive. Turned out car was an ex demo with a huge spec and overall the ID3 has been a fantastic car, with zero issues that crop up here, which tends to be an echo chamber for...

As I said before, as a former boy racer, I really like this, but it'll be second hand buy if ever.

I've a buddy with 16v Golf GTI, he's still not convinced!

Re: Spec Confusion!

Thanks Sidehaas. That's were the confusion comes in. Its def a Pro Performance Max with the 205HP motor and 58KW battety, plus all those extras, I'm wondering where the 'Business' came from on the registration number calculator. I wonder was it incorrectly registered, given there was huge confusion ...

Spec Confusion!

I know this come up before, but after doing a bit of rooting around the web, I'm more confused than ever about this. I happened to be looking at insurance quotes for my 21 Pro Max (good news, same as last year), when it came up that the car reg is a ' Business' model, something that didn't come up a...

Spot on Midgex, change comes at a cost, radical change will come at a radical cost, as someone involved in change manangement for 25 years it's clear that for many consumers they simply don't get that their lifestyle habits have to be altered to secure a future for our grandchildren.

Re: Sold my ID3

Interesting story, and a sobering one, if the average motorist is being de-incentivised to stay with EVs, then something must be broken. That said, I'm not a huge believer in a lot of the media based negativity around EV ownership, I'm always conscious of an agenda and also who is paying for certain...

Re: Headlight Levels

I occaionally get this also, but its usually my mistake, you need to be sure you are on automatic dimming, its easy to mistake the full light setting with the automatic one (the A inside the circle). If you have that covered, then it may be something else.

Re: Test drove a 1st Edition at the weekend...

What I find funny is how over-focussed non-EV drivers (and to be fair, some that own an EV) are on completely trivial issues around EV ownership. When the single biggest issue (which never gets a mention) is that for urban dwellers, ICEs are over, the sooner people get that into their heads the bett...

Re: Test drove a 1st Edition at the weekend...

I've stopped telling people that my ID3 is a decent EV, its a good car, period. The important aspects of any car including build and ride quality, decent acceleration and braking, comfort, economy and style are all there..... I couldn't give a rats a** about minor issues with the infotainment screen...
