Re: Adaptive Cruise Control - hard acceleration

I think it would, but I believe that would disable the HVAC which I am using to keep the windscreen clear following forum instructions to minimise winter HV battery use in conjunction with the heated seats and steering wheel. I think there is provision for a custom combination of features from the ...

This thing is gonna kill me and everyone else on the road, it's the worst thing ever forced upon us by the EU The EU hasn't forced anything on us. Re: Turning Off Lane Assist

Do you have any hard evidence for the statement? "There is an overwhelming amount of evidence that defaults matter." It could just as easily be an issue where as I came around a blind bend the car pulled me into a cyclist because I had to pull out into a white line to pass them. I think y...

;) As well as any added physical distance, the reaction time between reception and retransmission in a man in the middle system would correspond to a radio signal travelling a long way, even if it was not doing much processing in between.

I keep mine in a tin also, as much for neatness and convenience, but could I ask how we know that the Faraday cage is not needed, please?

Re: Charge flap failure - needs protective boot

Not had any problems with this but I do use silicone grease on the actuator. I also push it in while charging. Why does it need to lock anyway? You cant steal electricity. I suppose vandalism is possible. No idea if it is common. There's some stuff that it good for keeping window etc seals pliable ...

I'm inclined to leave that sort of thing to the machines, if the car only wants to charge slowly, it is plausible that it is correct in this.

No. That does not release the charge flap. It's the emergency release for the charge cable.
Ah yes. It would be handy if it did, I suppose, but reasonably enough the flap is assumed to be open. My bad.

...
Yes.
Look on the right side inside the boot for an unobvious perforated flap in the lining, a little lower than you might expect.
Undo it, opening up the perforated outline.
There is a loop on a wire which you pull down.

Sorry in advance if intruding. Not an ID.3 owner. Only very interested to rent it for two weeks of vacation. Mainly in Germany but also in France and Switzerland. Never driven an EV. So had to research about everything. Main concern remaining is about the likelihood of glitches. Car’s and network. ...

Hi all. I have this enabled but can't figure out if it actually does anything worthwhile? I was wondering if anyone has noticed any benefits from this being on? Given the extremely limited functionality I think it's more beneficial leaving it off  https://www.vw-id3.com/activating_and_deac...

Re: 3.2 update. Battery passed inspection but deltaV is 11.9v.

So I just tried testing the deltaV while accelerating up a steep hill and it came out as 27.1mV. For what’s it’s worth, Chat GPT is telling me that it’s well within operational limits and that a deltaV consistently over 30 to 50mV would indicate a problem. I realise I’m reaching the upper limit the...

Re: Hide and seek with yellow update notification, again

If I were a large car company with an update:- I'd try it in the lab first, then I'd try it on some cars in the company fleet, and then all of them; Then I'd try it on 1000, say, customers in the wild, then 10 000, then 100 000 and so on. The way I'd do it would be to advertise the update to random ...

Re: Am I overthrowing battery degredation.

Hello, I don't know if I'm overthinking the battery degradation issue. ... Worry less about it. The various companies underpromised and overdelivered. On the cooling of the battery during charging, the heat pump variant takes heat from various components that get warm. So there is a cooling system ...

... I'm talking about the ones nowhere near the motorway, in residential areas, with 5 to 10 bays selling electricity at motorway rates, i.e. 4 or 5 times a regular home tarrif. Unsurprisingly at that price they seem to be less than 5% utilised. Seems to me that at that rate the whole model is goin...

You'll have noted that the traction battery topping up the 12V battery is configurable - "optimise battery use" IIRC and AIUI it only happens when the car gets woken up.
