Re: Changing Cards or 300 apps
Good to hear you are enjoying your ID3. I agree there is no foolproof single method with charging - I've checked and have 8 apps on my phone for charging. A lot depends on what type of chargers you use and how price sensitive you are. The charge point regulations https://www.gov.uk/government/public...

Re: KWH Charging Rate
Yes to charging to 100% before long trip. We mainly drive in “B” mode and the amount of regen braking is considerably lower until the SOC is <90% which just takes a bit of getting used to. Re charge rate at high speed chargers I think the highest charge rate I have seen in the 18 months we have had ...

Re: Should the car come with a granny charger?
I think it depends upon the specific model and time. My 73 plate new id3 came with a granny charger but not a type 2 cable.

We Connect / VW Connect: Extended rights for registered guest users and primary users from 22/01/2025
Received this by email from VW - will be interesting to see if guest user finally works. Not clear if this will work on 3.7. Time will tell..... "More services, more ID. experience: Extended rights for registered guest users and primary users Hello g320y, We would like to inform you about exten...

Re: Finding cheap chargers
Haven't used it myself but I believe Zapmap premium allows you to filter by price. Tesla seems to consistently have the cheapest high speed chargers although prices have been going up, do vary by site, and at peak times some locations the same price as Ionity (63p with Intelligent Octopus 8% discoun...

Re: VW ID3 – 4 MONTHS IN
12 months on from my original post and I am still v happy with the id3 which we have used for both local commuting and long distance motorway trips; wouldn't change anything I said then other than adding that long distance trips have been easier than I expected. Car has been maintenance free (apart ...

Re: The infrastructure just isn't really there
We spent Xmas in a large village (small town) in Northern Leicestershire - 4000 souls. Nearest petrol/diesel retailer now a 13 mile round trip but nearest public charging a similar distance. Having had our id3 for 16 months we have had no issues with charging and have done long trips from London to ...

Definitely try replacing key battery. Mine started not opening doors etc just before showing error message in car to change battery. Has been fine since a swap which is dead easy to do (plenty of you tube videos).

Plug and Charge - Wecharge providers
I use the electroverse plug and charge service and find it works flawlessly - but only with Ionity chargers. Does the WeCharge plug and charge facility just work with Ionity or other chargers too?

Re: Newbie needing help with scheduled charging
Have you tried just ignoring the warnings and see if the charging still happens. With my own set up (octopus intelligent go tariff, ohme app, ohme charger) the ohme app/charger control the schedule, the id3 is just set to "charge immidiately" with no charge settings or locations set in the...

Latest ios app (2.42.1) pleasantly surprised with enhanced route planning options. Nice to see some useful extra funcionali...

First experience of snow
Despite having had our id3 for 14 months this week was the first experience of driving in snow here in mild NW London. Two observations: - firstly (and no surprise) the cold weather hammers range/efficiency on short journeys; a combination of heating the cabin (and I imagine the car heating its batt...
