Re: Delivery times
I bought mine with PCP, so there were quite a few forms to sign for that aspect. But other than that I only signed to get the car registered once it was with the dealer. I ordered through a dealer, so that might help. But all the forms for the PCP were signed via secure email. I don’t understand wha...

Re: 3.3 miles per kwh in morning, 5.3 miles per kwh in afternoon
I defrost my car by switching on air conditioning via the Volkswagen app from the comfort of my home, while neighbours scrape their windscreens. No de-icer needed. No idling engines with an EV.
Consumption is due to battery not as efficient in cold weather. Better with cars with heat pump.

Re: Changing Cards or 300 apps
My energy supplier is Octopus and I have set up the Plug & Charge with them (Electroverse). Currently only Ionity charging stations do plug & charge with Electroverse, so I try and find one when I need to charge en route. Octopus also supply Electroverse charging cards and I use those elsewh...

Charging plug stuck in car socket
I stopped off at a service station for “plug and charge”. At the end of the charging session the plug would not release from the car. The light next to it remained green, even though the infotainment screen acknowledged that charging had completed. I rang the Ionity help line and the guy on the phon...

Re: Plug and Charge - Wecharge providers
Yes only Ionity supports plug & charge currently. I swapped from WeCharge P&C to Electroverse P&C as I prefer the money comes out of my octopus account where I have accumulated a fairly large credit due to solar panels.

Many thanks, Sidehaas.
Tried your suggestion last night and it worked.
The user interface design of this app couldn’t be more convoluted.

Re: Device away from home (Octopus related)
I have never been able to set the charging to 100% from the VW app. Very inconvenient to have to go out to the car and start up infotainment late in the evening because I realise I need a fully charged car for the morning.

Re: Wireless charger cooking phone
I get the same overheating when trying to charge my iPhone. Even when I use cable and usb port the phone gets hot when I use apple play as I prefer using Google Maps instead of the built-in satnav. I have to lay it on to of the slots, to get air all round the iPhone. Even then I have to stop chargin...

On my ID3 I get a warning amber light in my side mirrors if there is a vehicle in the blind spot. Is that what you mean?

Re: Loss of range when parked?
I have now turned off the Volkswagen app as this is the only app I had running. Can’t drive for another 3 weeks due to a knee op. So hope the battery isn’t completely dead by then.

Re: Loss of range when parked?
My ID3 has been standing on the drive for 4 weeks and now reports 1% down. However, it also reports that the 12-volt battery level is low even though I have Optimised Battery Use switched on. I hope I don’t need to call out the AA by the time I can drive again in another 4 weeks.

Re: VW ID3 – 4 MONTHS IN
I have had my ID3 for 3 months and my experience agrees with all your comments, g320y. As well as the ACC I also went for the Travel Assist option on my ID3 and I use that a lot. It is brilliant at detecting speed limits, even temporary ones at road works, and slows down / speeds up accordingly. No ...

Re: Space Saver Spare Wheel
Having had a puncture one dark, cold Friday evening in the middle of nowhere it brought it home to me that a proper spare wheel is what I needed. When the AA rescued me they could only do a temporary repair and I had to wait until Monday before I could get a new tyre to use the car for a long journe...
