Re: Insurance prices

I had my renewal in July and it had gone up 90% since last year with no changes on my part , managed to get it a bit cheaper , my local broker said average increase was 35 - 40 % and they wouldn't insurers teslas , incidentally when i changed from an id3 15 months ago the insurance actually went dow...

Re: From ID.3 to IONIQ 5 - the ID.3 was great

I made the same journey 12 months ago and have never regretted it . The car is not perfect but no car ever is , it only does over the air updates for the sat nav not the car and the handles are awkward ( they only pop out on the top of the range ) but it's a great car to drive and it's every bit as ...

Re: We Charge

Motivation to install chargers isn't going to wane. Lots of people are currently putting them in despite making significant losses, because they are desperate to grab market share. Short term profitability isn't the main aim and a small slowdown in EV take-up, if it materialises, won't change that....

Re: Switch between D and B .. and back

I stick with B, once you learn how to ease on and off the power it's great. I just wish it would have more regen braking and come to a complete stop. Definitely prefer requiring an input to do something rather than a lack of input. Would hate to have a foot slip slightly or want to reposition my fo...

Re: Warmer weather efficiancy

I would say anything over 240 miles would be a miracle on the 58kw battery 4.9 is not realistic to maintain even in the summer. Well, the guy above has presented evidence. It seems to me that some of the newest cars (software 3.2) with the smaller motor might be more efficient, I've seen a couple o...

That's because it came on 19" wheels. 18" wheels, whether steelys or East Derry never come on self sealing tyres.
Yes I Know that , the point is he's bought a First Edition

Re: Would you order another ID3?

Very much doubt it , I sold my first edition in July and bought an Ioniq5, everything works well including the software and App . Its got its faults, no puddle lights and the handles are a pig to see in the dark as they took the pop out feature off my model ,it's showing 4.2 miles to the kilowatt si...

Re: Calculating kwh put into car

The Podpoint only shows the details once you have unplugged it , last night at -8 by us it put 26.9 kw in in 4 hours which isn't bad considering the temperature , in the first half hour it was only charging at half pace so assume it was busy heating the battery

Re: anyone got 3.0 update after 2.4 update?

A bit.. I love the car though and I am not really that bothered, I like some of the new screens I have seen but I have managed for 18+ months with no issues other than range in Winter, which 2.4 may help with but probably not as much as I can help with my right foot. I am more alarmed about 3.X int...

Re: Would you order from vw again?

Probably not unless something drastic happens with their software , i enjoyed driving my 1st edition but the long wait for it to run up okay wasn't enjoyable , 20 months ownership and only 1 over the air update wasn't what i was led to believe and that app was rubbish. My current ioniq5 suits my nee...

I sold my first edition in July for a profit and am now running an Ioniq5 and have never regretted it once , it's not so dynamic as the vw and its not perfect , what car is, no rear wiper and rear camera too low and in the open but is every bit as economical if not more, I'm getting 4.9 to the kw af...
