Re: GAP insurance when used prices are so high
You raise a good point. Presumably insurance pay-out could be even more than you paid? Personally its years since I bothered with GAP and I I have saved more than I would ;lose with a right off. Insurance covers the first year with a new car replacement anyway. Mind you I buy outright and if I had a...

Re: ACC problem
I am not sure it an ID3 issue as I have exactly the same on my Volvo XC40 diesel (changing to an EV at present which is why I am on here)

Re: Ecotricity EV plus economy 7
Utumno I recommend Octopus Go too. Yes charges are different between areas but I think the difference here is that Lammy is on Go Faster where you have choice of cheap hours for slightly more than Go where its fixed at 00.30 to 4.30 for cheap rate. You have to speak to them for Go Faster as its not ...

Re: ID.3 U.K. Delivery Times
I enquired about a Tour with 77k battery yesterday and was told 5/6 months so probably about new reg time. Not an issue for me as current car fine and anyway UK Power can't uprate electricity supply for charger until November (from a June request) and then I have to order and have charger installed.

Re: Stand alone home charger
Ashtara I haven't ordered yet but got a very helpful reply form Mike at EVdomestic see below. They cover London and South East which suits me in Essex. The poles look good to me. Hi John, We do plenty of installs on posts where the parking is a little way away from the house. We tend to find that ei...

Stand alone home charger
Does anyone have a standalone home charger i.e. on a post/pole not a wall? I know it has to be a fixed permanent structure but there are plenty in hotels car parks etc. If so can you point me to who could install one. My drive has a wide parking space several feet from front door and both my wife an...

Re: ACC sensor/warnings in V Heavy rain
I haven't an ID3 yet - only visited dealer Wednesday. However as far as ACC in torrential rain goes this is normal and happened on both my Tiguan and XC40 in heavy rain.

Exactly the same for me - driving licence only which they photo copied and then let me off with car for 45 minutes alone.

Re: Using Tesla Chargers UK
Lots of talk but I would be amazed if Tesla open them up any time soon. It is their trump card as the rest of the super fast charging infrastructure is so poor. It is the one thing that is making me wait for a model Y rather than getting an ID4 as I must have reliable super charging available for lo...

Re: Octopus Tariffs
Interesting as I have just changed to Octopus in readiness for solar panels and an EV. The advice I have been given by regulars is that Agile is usually best over a year and even more so if you get a storage battery but much better in summer than winter. You can switch between Agile in summer and Go...

Re: EV Grant reduced
I think you are right. I gather grant is lost on all cars not registered before yesterday. So a lot of unhappy potential owners if VW don't do anything. I see Tesla have said they will give £2500 discount on any car registered before 1 April. Will VW follow suit …...

Re: THINGS MY DEALER DIDN'T TELL ME ABOUT CHARGING
Think you were a bit hard on mc1611. Won't argue with your view on charging although others may disagree. I don't pretend to know answer. However as a past VW owner and fan the ID3 debacle has totally put me off buying an ID4 until I hear all the software and charging issues have been resolved. I wo...

Re: Windscreen Crack Stopped 2.1 Upgrade
I had my smart windscreen done by Autoglass (on a Tiguan with lots of driver aids). A short wait because they use their own windscreens not manufacturers. I did have to take it to their centre as they needed the calibration equipment. However an excellent and quick job and only a £50 excess for a wi...

Re: I’ll probably get hung for this - ID3 or Tesla 3
Not surprising the pro ID3 views on this forum of ID3 fans. Realistically they are very different cars with different pros and cons. ID3 is better built, more practical design, a hatch back and a lot cheaper. Model 3 is ahead in terms of engine, performance, range, superchargers and probably reliabi...

Re: OUR Real World Range
Dave I have considered the options as I really would like to move to an EV for environmental and driving reasons. My problem is I do a 150 mile trip on motorways, stay over a couple of days and then 150 mile return about every two to three weeks all through year plus several trips of 250 to 450 mile...

Re: OUR Real World Range
This thread is really interesting to me as a prospective new EV buyer. I knew temperature and driving affected range but not by this amount. I am used to driving with A/c on and 22-24C plus a lot of long 70 mph drives on motorway. I was assuming I would get 200-250 mile range which is essential for ...
