Re: service light issues
Probably....now just an update with other items. No one has an answer though it seems - apart from VW dealer. It seems that particular batch of basic Pro models on a 70 reg are the challenge . other Id3s seem to be having their service light reset without issues.

service light issues
SO being a thrifty owner I took up KwikFits offer of 'comprehensive EV servicing' at half the price of main dealer but will still not affect warranty. This is a 70 reg and ....they couldn't reset the service light. Four codes needed apparently and VW wont release the fourth one. So no charge for the...

Re: Tyre wear
Sorry if someone has ready mentioned this but there is a recall on tyres for certain age ID3 due to tyre wear.. ours is a 70 reg and main dealer is replacing all tyres for free. £700 of good news, you just have to ask about the recall at the dealership.

2 year inspection service - KwiK Fit versus VW
SO this is a sad tale which I am putting into the chat to help me calm down. First quote from VW main dealer around £180 and we all know how basic it is but thems the rules. Then Kwik Fit advertise their specialist EV inspection services - around £80 so went with this. Again they just check the car ...

trip to Holland - charging experiences !
SO I thought I would share the [mostly] pain free experiment of going to Holland and back in an ID3......120 miles to Eurotunnel. free charging at the terminal dead easy although only one of four points working . Hook of Holland with 50 left in the tank...only option was Ecotap, their local provider...

Increasing the range while driving
Thought I would share an experience last weekend of a trip from Southampton to Chelsea which may be an experience seasoned ID3 drivers have already worked out [ the range not the trip to Chelsea] but I was surprised at the results. on the way to London used the 'B' setting rather than 'D' so the eff...

Congestion charge in London
Several months ago did a trip into London and was advised to register the ID3 with Transport for London to avoid the ULEZ charge. Completely free for an EV. I also saw that you could make a one off payment of £10 and so avoid the daily congestion charge - but it would take up to 10 days so had to pa...

Tesco free charging.with VW and useful tip with granny charger
Quite happy with Octopus Go overnight a few times a week but visited local Tesco superstore and thought I would investigate this free charging deal. Firstly, a sign of the times…..all 4 bays occupied where 6 months ago there was always two or three free. This could turn out to be the biggest challen...

Re: Scheduled charging with Pod Point
I feel your pain. There have been many posts about unreliable Pod point charging but ( tempting fate) we have had it cracked for the last three months without any issues. The failsafe is just to set the timed charge for the Octopus Go 12. 30 to 4 30 am cheap, slot ( about £1 20 for a 100 mile charge ...

Beware the congestion charges in London
So I thought a trip into London would be completely free of charges……not so. Firstly the ULEZ emission fee is free….but you have to enter your reg and it confirms the car will not need to pay. But the congestion charge…… you need to pay a one of fee of £ 10 online which then gives you free access to...

Re: Lunatic used car valuations
So it is true that used car prices are crazy at present because everyone wants decent secondhand rather than buying new as the bubble is about to burst as everyone goes electric over the next few years. Saying that, who would buy a car right now. ID3 lease prices 200 to 250 a month with decent milea...

Re: Pod point scheduled charge not working
We had initial trouble using the Octopus Go 12 30 to 4 30 am crazy cheap timer with Pod,point. It seemed a bit erratic and then I read that an previous post to just set the timer for every day of the week and then just use the days you want to. Everything seemed happy after that. I did notice the re...

Cornering light error
So 1500 miles on the clock and cornering light error pops up on the screen. Could it be a bulb ? Of course not says the dealer, far to old school... needs a day for diagnostics and investigation. Car is booked in but if anyone has had a similar experience ?
Thanks, Peter
Thanks, Peter

when to charge - solar or Octopus
SO 1 week into ownership...Pod point on the garage wall and feeling suitably green and smug. At present charging during the sunny days when the solar panels are doing their thing....but there is nothing to say if this is the cheapest way to charge or use the Octopus Go 4 hours @ 5p option at night t...

Re: Hello from an excited new member
Will be a standard home charger....when it turns up,tomorrow. And just going for the Octopus Go tariff that gives you the 4 hours at 5 p per hour for a four hour nighttime charge. Hence thinking that the principle of using domestic appliances when the panels are soaking up daylight should apply to c...

Re: Hello from an excited new member

Anyway, love the car and like everyone going serious anorak about charging costs etc..... all the free charging points few and far between and only home ch...

Re: Got an ID.3 for the week; a few questions!
So waiting for a delivery date from the lease company for ID3 Life and have been avidly reading the posts about charging, Octopus, public chargers etc. It does that this is the most confusing area of EV ownership. Think we have the home charger sorted with PodPoint although no date for installation ...
