Re: Newbie and worried about the bugs

Had mine since July 21. No bugs really - the odd error message that goes away after restart. Whilst upgrading software I also got error messages but disappeared once the update finished. 1st editions that were rushed to market also had more problems initially mainly due to early version software. Fr...

Re: New software - ID light flashing

Thanks all. If all it is doing is telling me to lift off the pedal at certain times to increase efficiency I can do without that as it’s unrealistic to imagine I’d be following its instructions constantly. If eco assist does anything else though I may want to keep it on - trying to find out more det...

New software - ID light flashing

I’ve recently received a significant software upgrade and since the installation the ID light (or rather a small portion of it in front of the driver) flashes every minute or so. It’s a minor problem but a bit distracting and annoying. Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: ID3 vs Megane vs Astra

Ooh yes this looks like a proper competitor at last. Will all come down to the pricing. From what I can see, the entry level will be significantly worse in the key stats than the ID3 life pro I have and cost more. However, given current restrictions on model production the Megan’s may be better.

Thanks all. Took a bit of investigation and a couple of download attempts but now seems to be sorted.

Front sensor issue

This is the first ‘real’ issue I’ve had in the first year of ownership. When I start up I get errors saying that front assist is limited, lane assist not available and road sign detection is not working. I assume this must be an issue with one of the sensors. Normally this is because there is grime ...

Re: Steamy windows

I had this as a problem to start with. It’s just about getting the hang of how the a/c works and having it on at a low speed always. It’s easy to think it’s on when it’s not when you first start.

Re: Hyundai IONQ5

That’s it. As an all round package for those who don’t have a larger budget the id3 is still difficult to beat for me. Ev6 and Ioniq much pricier. Others at similar price prints to the basic id3 are generally inferior in one or more major areas.

Great tip but only turns on the driver’s seat for me - is there any way to do both?

Re: Hello from Oxford

Speaking of Oxford, I was at Oxford services yesterday and as usual a queue for the crappy ecotricity machine. However, all 16 Tesla chargers were in use too, with more Teslas waiting. This did soothe my annoyance somewhat .

Re: ‘Mode’ button

Thanks, yes it has never worked whether on the move or stationary. Annoying! Still, I haven’t had any other problems so am not doing too badly. Hardly feels worth going to the dealer for.

‘Mode’ button

In my ID3 life pro, this doesn’t do anything when you press it. I was just wondering if anyone knew whether this is because my model doesn’t have the choice of sport/comfort etc….or if this is a fault?

Re: Built in Satnav vs Apple/Google Maps

You may find this is something of a can of worms. My opinion: Pros - display is nice and clear, sound quality is good and the ID light can be helpful in identifying the correct turn off. The function that finds you a charging stop en route has actually worked very well for me whenever I’ve used it, ...

Re: Range degradation

I too didn’t fully appreciate that the real world range would be down at 80 miles at times in winter. Still, manageable for me at the moment with a home charger.

Loads of snow here in Burntwood/Lichfield today. It was OK, took it carefully, a little sliding at times when actually driving on fresh snow but overall it felt quite confident.

plus an additional £78

£3 is just the fee to carry out a search.
I don’t think that’s correct. I’ve obtained various plans recently for my in-laws and there was no £78 fee - just the £3.

Re: Land Registry proof?

No. Simple confirmation of the parking space/drive availability was enough for me. Seems they are entitled to request Land Registry proof if they want though. Usually quite easy to get the plan from the LR website though.

So how do you get you car washed? I do not have time or inclination to do it myself. Is it really not safe to pay the local hand car wash?

Re: Home charger recommendations

I like my EO/Octopus charger. It’s very small and discrete and the app works well. You can toggle a simple switch which sets it to charge during Octopus Go off peak hours. Those hours are not always sufficient to charge fully, however. Custom scheduling works well too.

Re: ID3 advertised range.

You need to go and look at the concept of ‘WLTP’ range. The advertised range of all electric cars is WLTP, which is an a measurement based on artificial conditions which rarely if ever obtain in the real world. Not great but that’s the position at the moment - all cars advertise WLTP range. TBH you ...
