Re: Has anyone tried Plug and Charge?
I've used plug and charge with Electroverse twice. It worked well and so far no sign of a bill... Nor for me. I think they sometimes bill up to three months after though. I saw them saying this in response to a Twitter complaint. It has started billing me, as of a couple of weeks ago. Now the charg...

Re: First Winter
I got an alert from the VW app yesterday recommending I plug in and pre-warm the car before using it in this cold spell. I was already doing that as it happens and so I cleared the message without reading it properly, but I think it was suggesting that the battery gets warmed up as well as the cabin...

Re: Which charger?
As the car is compatible (and works reliably) with Intelligent Octopus you only need a dumb charger, Ours is a QBEV but I haven't seen them about recently. The only caveat is if you only have a 60A service fuse, you may need a charger with load balancing. My experience is that Intelligent Octopus c...

ID3 app regularly fails to synch
Hello Has anyone else having a problem where the ID3 app regularly fails to synch? It seems to happen after a few days of not using the car. It seems to affect intelligent octopus too because I plugged in an hour ago and it still hasn't noticed. I suppose it's a time out. Is there a way to stop it t...

I didn't get that. It's amazing how inconsistent ID3s can be!

In what way did it tell you? Mine simply stopped working!Raxacorico wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 12:45 pm My ID3 told me the battery needed to be change just a few weeks ago (car two years old). I changed it, no problems before or since.

Re: Octopus intelligent query
I recently switched to IO. It's ability to control the ID.3 seems a bit ropy. The first charge was fine, though it took a long time for IO to spot that the car was plugged in and it was charging at peak rate meantime. But for the next one Octopus never gained control at all. I think it didn't even s...

Re: Using Tesla chargers - sharing my experience
Yes I noticed they were quite cheap (relatively) and potentially very fast. I wondered whether they are always aligned like in Flint, between the parking spaces. If they'd been behind the spaces it would have been ok. Good to hear that they are doing newer ones with longer cables. The more chargers ...

Using Tesla chargers - sharing my experience
Today my id3 satnav directed me to some Tesla chargers in Flint. Trouble is, Teslas charge from the left and the id3 from the right; and their cable is very short. The chargers were very busy and it took me a while to realise that I would need 2 adjacent spaces to come free for me to be able to use ...

Re: Charging problems with Zappi smart charge point
My ID3 charges fine with my Zappi 2. I have the Zappi set to ECO+ with a scheduled boost during Bulb cheap EV rate hours. I always used to get a "charge failed" message from the app but learned to ignore it. I've only charged twice since getting 2.4 and I think the message has stopped happ...

Re: Solar + Battery thoughts
Would you be happy to share your installer/supplier contact details @bazmac ? Sure, although it might not help, I am using a local company from Dundee, Greystone Energy. So far they have done everything they said when they said they would,. Only issues have been the availability of some components....

Android Auto no longer connecting
I have been using Android Auto on my ID3 for some time, but in the past week it has stopped connecting. The phone seems to think it's fine but while the car can connect to my phone, it doesn't see that it has Android Auto. This is for wireless and USB. My phone recently updated to Android 12. The ca...

Re: Software 2.4 rollout delayed
Previous software updates were fixing the fundamentals but since 2.3 the id3 has worked pretty well. So while I read and analysed every rumour about 2.3, I am content to wait patiently for 2.4. Better for it to be right than half-baked.

Re: Newbie and worried about the bugs
I guess people are more likely to post with problems than post that everything is great. Had ours for a year / 8500 miles. No problems since the 2.3 update except that the timed charge thing still doesn't work (which I personally don't need) and the app doesn't work (which is a pain sometimes). On b...
