Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement

Might be just a glitch for me but worth noting if you are booked in. Had the 2.4 update late last week which seemed to go smoothly. However, my wife went out this morning in the car with her set of keys and they are not working - have tried to resync to no avail. Dealer suggesting that the key need...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement

If you are waiting for the first glut of updates to be done and for VW to refine their technique - it may be worth booking now... So having had my July 15th update cancelled by Inchcape Stockport (as they hadn’t done any then…) I phoned up today to re-arrange. November 28th was the earliest appointm...

Re: Winter tyres on the id.3

Hi MotMot, how did the noise levels of the Cross Climates compare with the Bridgestone? Swapped to CCs in a previous (ICE) car and the decrease in road noise was huge, as well as changing the steering 'feel' by filtering out the feedback from roads with coarse texture If the range hit is only 10%, ...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement

The new Tours don’t seem to have the side radar sensors.. (mine didn’t - delivered 6 weeks ago) and it came with 2.3. It’s likely these were cars that were started late 21 early 22 then finished more recently.

Re: Plastic rattle rear passenger side (exterior)

I know you said it was outside - but some folk have had raffles from the rear seat catches. A check is to drop the rear seats and see if it persists…?

Re: Winter tyres on the id.3

Bridgestones were rubbish. So I bought a set of cross climates. Excellent - but do dent the range/economy by 5-10%… brilliant in slush/light snow that we had (and much much better on muddy roads) Now having contis (newer id3) I’ve a set of 18” steels with vgc cross climates on - that I may be sellin...

Those other little sw updates are the wecharge app and updates for that. 3.0 is large and several hours to install.

Mine came with a granny charger and no type 2 lead! They didn’t mind me hanging in to the old type 2 from the life I was trading in!

Re: So much wrong with this car - Now mould on carpet

I’ve heard of issues with the AC drain pipe on the id4 making the carpet wet - so might be worth letting the garage know about mine. As the others have said - voice control isn’t something I’ve used (apart from Siri - a long press on the button) and car play is great for me. Wireless charging needs ...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement

The Born app doesn’t seem to work (at all) from what I’ve read. I test drove a Polestar2 and then decided to upgrade my life to a tour 😁 it’s a nice car - but I thought the id3 was quieter, hd a bigger boot and more room in the back (despite being 20-30cm shorter). The touchscreen and interior is be...

I believe the ‘tow bar’ is called a ‘load carrier’ anyway - so sticking a box on it would be fine.

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement

The problem is the structure. The dealers (and workshops) are all separately owned from VW. So whilst some may be on the ball - and know exactly what is coming - read the briefs - have techs who chase up the problems, some will be none of those... It feels like a bad franchise operation. Think Wimpe...

Re: Intelligent Octopus and Software 3.0

I believe it can work with either a car OR charger that is supported - as you can leave the charger in dumb mode and let the car manage the charging OR leave the car in dumb mode (with say an 80% charge limit) and let the charger choose when to charge. Maybe someone with an iD3 and an Ohme could try...

Re: What ODB dongle - ABRP (massive trip to France)

As an aside - apart from providing 'real time' updates on battery to ABRP - the dongle also enables ABRP to calibrate itself to your driving style and actual consumption... rather than just using a set rate. Neat. ALL of this that ABRP does (albeit a bit flakily) should be done via the Nav system on...
