There’s some info on here or speakEV about the pano roof squeak. Fairy liquid is the fix apparently…

Re: Wheel Trim Upgrade

I’ve a set of four (one with a couple of scuffs) that I don’t use any more. £100 Inc the postage. Or if you’re nearish to Manchester pick up and I can knock off the postage. If you’re interested I’ll dig them out of the cellar and take some pics.

Re: Ev Car tax

Tax is a means to raise income as well as to incentivise- or disincentivise something. It strikes me the present uK VED policy does neither especially well. Which sums up the govt really - no strategy. Anyway - I renewed my car tax this morning and it took less than a min once I’d found my V5. Seems...

Re: Launch edition 3 drive modes

ACC is automatic cruise control. I’d try the car in eco - standard and sport modes - which give versions of these parameters. Personally I prefer eco as the throttle response is a bit gentler (it’ll still accelerate full if you floor it) - and the ACC is a bit gentler with the acceleration and accel...

Re: Vehicle data - efficiency

Its 2 hours. Been that on all VAG cars for years... Was similar on a volvo I had but a shorter delay I think...

You can reset it yourself... But why have anything other than 2 hours ? :)

Re: Key security

So - ID3 keys have a motion sensor in them - so if left still for a few min, they 'switch off' making a relay type theft impossible. No need for key pouches/farraday cage etc.. WRT OBD hacks - I've not heard of any on the ID range... hopefully not famous last words! I know KIA/Hyundai have proven to...

Re: EV routing in Maps on iPhone

Short answer is no. Google can do the same - but your manufacturer has to buy into Google’s system. Polestar and Renault do. Don’t know who is supported by Apple. At the moment it needs to be ‘in the car’ rather than on the phone so it can get the cars SOC and present consumption to work out where t...

Re: Charging only @3.6kw

FWIW the 'reduced rate' when the charge at reduced AC rate tab is clicked on the car is 2kw (granny charger speed) on a 7kw charger and 6kw on an 11kw charger. Well it has been for me this last week...

Re: Charging only @3.6kw

Check your charger settings? Some have way of reducing the output. 3.4 translates to roughly 16amps. 32a is the max for most non three phase home chargers.

I’ve seen a thread on that on speakEV I think. It was reasonable (£300 ish) but it does seem to vary. You can get a quote within a month or two of your warranty expiring.

Re: Official post on VW ID. Drivers Club FB group regarding updates

I think the update is for those on 3.1?

I had 2.4>3.2 at the dealer last year so don’t expect to actually get any sort of update for a while!

Unless anyone knows different?

Re: Winter range

EV’s will lose 20-30% of their range in winter. It’s that simple. All sorts of reasons but you can’t escape that I’m afraid.

Below 10 degrees it starts going south… we’re lucky in the UK though - as hot temps lead to faster battery deg. So we sit in a sort of sweet spot temp wise.

Re: List of design faults - can anyone help?

No car is perfect - and I'll stand by that... 2011 1.6tdi golf from new to 90k miles. Changed two tyres - nothing else (paid for servicing every 12k miles though..). Very good car but that was 90k miles with the VW sanctioned cheat device in full flow... Something about the seat and driving position...

Looking at pictures of the unit on EBay

It looks like it just clips in.
