Re: 3.0 Software Update
Thank you! However I tried this and the app still doesn't work on my phone. I'll have another fiddle tomorrow! I had the same issues, took about 4 days but it all came through eventually. Take a look at my posts last week to see my journey, so far you are mirroring my experience. It started working...

Re: 3.0 Software Update
It just came up with a message saying the the update was now available to install and that it would take 6-8 hours in which time one cannot move or charge the car. it also need to have more than 50% of charge. You also need to turn off the lights (as with 2.3 update). One day I activated it and it w...

Re: Journey advice - charging
Off to France in June and some Tesla charging stations there now take non-Tesla vehicles. This is good because a typical Tesla station there has 20 or more charging points. There are comments on We Charge from ID3 owners saying "charge successful". One charging site information says you ne...

Re: Summer Range
I got an average of 4.5 miles per KWh last summer and 3.5 in the winter - dropping to 3 for short journeys. Did a short journey last Saturday when it was 19 degC and got 5.8 miles per KWh but that is unusual

Re: Tyre Wear
I've done 5000 miles and recently my garage said my Bridgestone tyres had gone down from 8mm to 4mm in that time. At that rate tyre wear is costing more per mile that the cost of electricity (Octopus Go at 5p per KW) monkeyhanger - is 5.9 mm correct? I'm a bit worried as I plan to go to France in Ju...

Re: Journey advice - charging
I recommend the Zap-Map App in the UK. It has details of all the charging points (We Charge is a bit limited in this country), how much they cost, method of payment, availability, and comment/tips from users about the ease of use or otherwise, need to check with reception for hotel charging points e...

Agree, the voice mode is a pain and constantly interrupts if you are talking to a passenger - just switch it off until you need it.

I agree, the lights on my ID3 come on a lot earlier than with my previous three Golfs but it doesn't really bother me

Re: Insurance compared to ICE cars?
Mine went up about 60% from a Golf Mk 7 122 psi. It went up about 300% from the company I was with so I changed companies. The excuse was they were nervous about costs of damage in an accident as they didn't have any data. At 204 psi, it's also a lot more powerful than the Golf of course.

To get it to install you need to wait a minute before starting the car with the brake and make sure the lights are off too.

VW have a deal with Podpoint and the dealer recommended them. It came in 10 days. Easy to use and set charging time if you're on a cheap night-time tariff.

Re: Scheduled charging with Pod Point
Leccy, have you tried telling the car not to unlock the cable when charging finishes?. When you go to it in the morning you can unlock the cable by locking and unlocking the car a couple of times
