Re: Sold my ID3

I have a lot of sympathy with "pullingteeth". Bought my iD3 Family in Sept 2021, a cancelled order, so 95%of what I wanted - no alloys. I have really enjoyed owning the car, it suits my needs but I have to say that VW have been absolutely awful with their software. My local garage have bee...

Re: Dashcams: Current preferred dashcam please?

Personally, I would recommend a Nextbase product. Some two years ago I had a Nextbase 312 camera fitted and came across a road incident where the police asked for video evidence. I had video of incident, contacted police and showed detective video. Nextbase had speed, latitude and longitude and othe...

Re: Software Update

I am one of the unfortunate ones still on software 2.4. Could not get original OTA update in Sept 2022, advised to book in at local service centre and had a date in April 2023 for 3.something update but centre cancelled at 48 hours notice "due to persistent failures and instruction from VW to r...

Re: First year

Agree with your input. I bought car in Sept 2021 and really like it. Waited for software update to 3.something in Sept 2022. Advised in March 2023 that OTA no longer available - book into service centre. Booked into service centre for update on Monday in July, phone call on Friday at 17:30 advising ...

Re: Anyway to get v3.0 from 2.4 right now ?

Booked my Family 154hp in for 3.something update in March. Got date of July. Two days beforehand got phone call cancelling appointment as "they had yet another update failure" and had been advised by VW to refer all updates to HV centre. Contacted nearest HV centre and now have appointment...

Re: 3.2 software update cancelled

Booked car in for 3.0 or 3.2 update in first week in May and given date of 17th of July for update. Contacted garage a few days beforehand to see if I needed to supply both keys. Was told I should hand in both keys as a precaution but they had been having several problems recently with updates - pro...

Re: Anyway to get v3.0 from 2.4 right now ?

I contacted my local service centre in first week of May to book 3.2 upgrade. Was told they had been having problems with several cars and were now allocating 5 days for each car upgrade in case they had problems and first available date was Monday 17th July. (Note - both keys needed) On Friday, 14t...

Re: 3.2 software update cancelled

My car is due in for 3 something update on 17th July. Had heard that you need to hand in both keys to ensure all updates are successful, checked with service centre today, told this was true but also told that update may be delayed due to problems with previous cars. I really do feel sorry for my se...

Re: Service costs - they must be joking

£199 service plan. Bought my Family Pro in Sept 2021. In Sept 2022 I received an email offering me the £199 service plan. This was exactly one year after I purchased car and letter stated “ notice you have no service plan.” Wonder if there is a trigger in VW network which highlights such cars i.e. o...

Re: 3.2 software update cancelled

Car booked in for update in July, no word of cancellation yet. Noted this a few days ago - "FRANKFURT, May 6 (Reuters) - Carmaker Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) is set to dismiss all but one of the executive board members at its software division Cariad next week to try to resolve development problems,...

Re: Dealers and 3.0 software

Probably my fault. There are so many comments about "update 3.x -y-z", I just abbreviated it to 3.0. Have had excellent service from dealer on updates so far so will find out what update/battery mode I have when car is returned. Who knows, there may even be another update before my schedul...

Re: Dealers and 3.0 software

Contacted local dealer and car now booked in for 3.0 update, unfortunately having to wait until mid July due to dealer being very cautious on time taken to update. I feel dealer is being very honest and tends to offer "worst case" scenario when quoting times - quoted "up to two days&q...

Re: Dealers and 3.0 software

Just trying to clarify things about 3.0 update.
I have heard that OTA update has been stopped, is this true and does this mean that you can only update to 3.0 by going to the dealer?

Re: "electric drive" error

A few months ago I stopped at traffic lights and, when I tried to drive off, got this warning and car would not drive. Got out, locked car, waited 30 seconds then was able to enter and restart car. I was within half a mile of garage so drove car there. Warning cleared after leaving car parked and lo...

Re: New Tyre recommendations

My car, Family model, was delivered with Bridgestones and I always found it very twitchy in the wet - I am 80 years old so my boy racer days are well gone! Due to recent cold spell where I live in Scotland, dumped Bridgestone rears after 7k and replaced them with Michelin Cross Climates, car now fee...

Re: Headlight option in low sun

Technically illegal to use front fogs unless in fog or falling snow where visibility is reduced to 100m or less. Personally think that is silly and you should be allowed to use fogs when you, as a driver, think it is necessary due to reduced/difficult visibility - they are not going to blind oncomin...

Re: Driving on snow

I live in Scotland and worked in the electricity supply industry for some thirty years so have experience in driving in all sorts of conditions. My car is a Family Pro and I found the 18" Bridgestones awful, the rear was very twitchy in the wet, even at moderate speeds. Due to recent weather fo...

Re: 3.0 Software Update

Is there any order as to when you get the 3.0 update?
Got the 2.4 update and battery in July 2022 but have heard/received nothing about 3.0'
Is it a matter of wait and see or is there some way of speeding up the process?
