Re: 3.0 Software Update
No concrete knowledge but there I think were suggestions a while back that the whole point of the 2.4 battery change was actually because VW were concerned that the original 12V batteries wouldn't manage the 3.0 OTA update - which if true would support that possibility. VW haven't commented...

Re: ID3 2.3 to 2.4 software update?
It should get done with the battery. If it says 0912 on the same screen as it's says 2.3, you actually have 2.4. 2.4 does not show the correct version number. If it says 0910, you still have 2.3. Ah that explains something.... Thank you. Our car went to garage in September to (try to) fix some char...

Re: Recent upgrade - what can I expect to have changed?
Thanks I need to check our version then. Because as I said 2 or 3 times last week in Italy it didn’t. The Nav programmed a stop where the chargers were not working ( and looked like they had been out of commission for a couple of weeks according to the MiniApp. Could be because I was out of my home ...

Re: Recent upgrade - what can I expect to have changed?
Sorry disagree. My Nav nor the WeConnect software does not give an update. There is certainly a ‘connectivity’ issue. However the MiniCharge software does. As proof on recent trip to Italy, it showed when another car attached to the charger next to mine; by changing from 5 out of 6 available to 4 ou...

Re: Recent upgrade - what can I expect to have changed?
Not VW fault that chargers are out of order. However the Navigation software should inform you whether a charger is available or not. The Chargemap and MiniCharge software does this, so is achievable. Just another sign of VW lack of insights and thought…. And cr***y software.

Re: 3.2 now in ID.3
If you order a new one now you would be on track for 4.0 🤣
It'll likely also be a MK2. For those just receiving theirs now who usually replace every 3 years, might be worth putting in the order for the next one.
If they continue to make the ID3 in 3 years. There was an interview wi...

Re: Trip report - NW England to France and back
Interesting. I can vouch for the experience on the Ionity network in France. I use them regularly. I only once had a problem traveling towards Chambéry when the outside temperature was reaching 38c. This was in a service area near Annecy and only one of the chargers seemed to have protection from th...

Re: ID.3 Facelift Coming 2023
Most of your frustrations seem more about touchscreen controls and nothing to do with capacitive buttons. Increased use of touchscreens is a direction that all manufacturers have been going in but there are still some that fill a cabin with buttona if that's what you want. I thought VW's design was...

Re: 3.0 Software Update
It is not just a problem with Podpoint. I think there is a general issue with the latest software and home chargers. I live in France and have a 7,8kw charger supplied by Total Energy. ( could be the same hardware as others with different sticker ). For 6 months scheduled charging worked like clockw...

Re: Recent upgrade - what can I expect to have changed?
Thanks for the explanation. I also went in for an ‘upgrade’ 2 months ago to try to sort out the schedules charging issue. The VW garage couldn’t tell me what the upgrade was, and it took 2 attempts. The first one lasting 3 days ! Needless to say the software is so c**p that it didn’t fix the problem...

Re: Ohme charger slow charging with v3.0 software
I’m surprised this is still an issue with v3 software. I had loads of grief with this but the CPWL profile sorted it. I’ve switched to a Cupra Born that’s running V3 software and it’s be working fine without any special profile so assumed the ID3 would be fixed too. The only other things I can thin...

Re: Slow Charge with Ohme Pro
I dont think it is a charger problem or scheduling problem. I posted the below on another thread re the 2,4 software update. I post below for convenience. Living in France we have a Total Energies supplied charger. It may be a rebadged version of the one you have but it indicates the problem is with...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
We still have charging issues on our 7,8 KW rated (32Amp) home charger. It seems to only take 1 to 2 KW per hour, so never reaches the target 80% even with overnight charging starting at 20 or 30% battery. I have checked the ‘reduced current settings’ but cannot find the problem. It has been doing t...

Charger network in Europe. Watch out in Italy
Some of you maybe thinking your EV needs a holiday in the sun. So what about charging using the WeConnect card. I live and travel a lot in France, S Germany and Switzerland and I have had no issues with WeConnect. I don’t like the software because it doesn’t locate all of the chargers but starting t...

Re: 3.0 Software announcement tomorrow?
Maybe not so great news. The ‘waves’ are ‘small ripples in still waters’ for some. I received this announcement several months ago. The local VW dealer where we bought the car, was still not aware 2 months after I received that notification. Also it is a ‘nightmare’ to update. My car was in for anot...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
We had ours in the garage last week, because on our 7KW charger it now only charges at 1 to 3. When I booked it in originally, they told me that ‘my car didn’t have any updates due’. I was on V2.3. So I was surprised when I arrived at the garage that they said they needed to keep the car until the f...

Re: Location data dropping out.
Totally agree. These had a small umbrella cover but not something to protect from direct sunlight. So definitely a design fault since 5 out of the 6 wouldn’t work.

Re: Location data dropping out.
Yes. I have found it forgets the home location and therefore all of the charging times get lost. It seems random. Occasionally the nav system doesn’t start. It seems only getting out of the car and locking/ unlocking restarts the system. For the heat … we are currently on a short vacation in the sou...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement
Similar problem here. After getting tired of the over the air updates losing my settings and lack of reliability on scheduled charges, I contacted the dealer where we bought the car. I asked about getting the software iodate done. They told me ‘there are no listed updates available for your car🙁’. ‘...
