Re: Intelligent Octopus

We've just switched from octopus go to intelligent octopus. Still on software 2.4 but it seems that any EV is now compatible if you're using an ohme charger (which we are!) May I ask why you changed from Go to Intelligent? For me, the cost is greater on Intelligent than on my present Go tariff. We ...

Ask your dealer for the £199 service plan. Covers one service, one MOT, and one brake fluid change.

Re: Clicking sound when accelerating and braking

Same issue with my car. I suggested to the technician that it might be driveshaft related, based on what I'd read here. He confirmed that was the case, and said there was a TPI out for this problem (presumably that's a technical bulletin for a known issue). It's quite a big job, so they want the car...

Re: ID3 servicing.......... simply explained

Not available on my ID3! £338.10 if I want a service plan. Why do some people get the £199 plan and some don't? Did you ask your dealer or just look it up online? It's always 338 online, you must get sent an offer link. No I haven't asked the dealer. Although, I did get an email making me the offer...

Re: ID3 servicing.......... simply explained

Hi folks Having seen mixed reports about the availability of the £199 service plan, I asked about options when I dropped my car off for some warranty investigations today (a long list!). Was initially told that they didn't think there was a service plan for the ID3, but they looked it up, and the on...

Re: New octopus energy quote, ouch!

Indeed. We're currently on 23p peak, 5p off-peak, and when our fixed rate expires at the end of November, we've been offered the same rates you've shown there (or very nearly, anyway). We've also been getting very confused messaging from Octopus. They've emailed to say that the govt support is only ...

Re: 2.4 update and battery replacement

Good 2.4 update experience here. I had booked in a couple of months ago with Inchcape in Macclesfield, they had only just started taking bookings, but of course I'd booked for September 19th, so everything had to be rescheduled! Only by a couple of weeks though. They booked a two day slot in the wor...

Re: Condensation and water droplets inside headlight

Well, this hasn't quite gone to plan! A few months down the line, the replacement headlight has failed in exactly the same way as the original one. It's not misted up quite as severely yet, but is clearly heading that way. The original driver's side one is still fine, with no sign of any condensatio...

Re: Lists of Do’s - Don’ts

Use a public charger early. To gain self confidence in "how to" before you have to use one in earnest. This is sage advice. Compared to the familiar old 'lift a nozzle and squeeze the trigger', public EV charging can be a complete minefield of different sequences, payment options and the ...

Re: Unable to load connection status

I've just had this error for the first time in 7+ months of ownership. Interestingly the green light by the SOS button is still lighting up, which I understood to mean that mobile connectivity was functioning. But the infotainment is quite adamant that it isn't. I've done a ten second power button p...

Re: Service plans

Hi all Just an update. I sent an email to my dealer and he replied with a breakdown Pollen filter 64.05 Brake fluid 59.54 Inspection service 1.4 hours 237.31 Mot 54.85 Total with vat is 415.75 So he is saying it’s a 77.65 saving! Does anyone think that 237.31 for less than an hour and half work is ...

Re: Charge every night?

I typically do no more than 40 miles a day, but mine goes on charge every night. Partly because I like to know that I start every day with a full (well, 80% full) tank, just in case. But also in an attempt to build up the habit so I connect the charger as soon as I park up, which reduces the chance ...

Re: Service plans

The ID Family service plans seem to be a complete piss take.. basically twice the price of an ICE service. id family plan £340 for a £10 pollen filter, a £70 Brake Fluid change and a £55 MOT and a 'Service' which is what exactly? That is absolutely ridiculous. Given that there are almost zero consu...

Re: Octopus Go + Ohme

Yep, 100 miles in the four hour window is spot on. We have a similar setup, albeit with an Ohme go, and I always work on being able to get 100 miles of charge each night. As above, the actual range will depend on what sort of efficiency you're getting.

Re: Condensation and water droplets inside headlight

Just to confirm, my headlight has been replaced now.

There was no fuss with the dealers, they inspected the car, got approval from VW to carry out the replacement the next day, and I took the car back in as soon as they'd had the new headlight delivered.

Aha, yes. My commando + Ohme go + hose hangar combo is a bit of an ugly brute, but it's mostly hidden behind a hedge! Are you thinking of mounting something in the carport, and just reeling up the last few metres of cable between uses? I need to take three loops of cable of my hose hangar to charge,...

Crikey. No, it’s saying that if you have a location set then the settings for the location override the global settings. I agree it could be better phrased 😀 ermm.. im still perplexed :) Good practice for battery longevity is to only charge to 80% in all scenarios as the default, and charge to 100%...
