Re: Charge Change in iD App ?
Crikey. No, it’s saying that if you have a location set then the settings for the location override the global settings. I agree it could be better phrased 😀 ermm.. im still perplexed :) Good practice for battery longevity is to only charge to 80% in all scenarios as the default, and charge to 100%...

The cheap and cheerful option I used was a wall mounted bracket designed for hanging loose garden hoses.

Re: New ID3 disk brakes after 12k miles!
Absolutely agree that this seems like complete nonsense, coming from someone who simply does not understand how the car's braking system works. As others have said, both modes will use regenerative braking as the default, except in situations where greater braking force is required, then the mechani...

Re: New software update
I installed 2.3 some time ago, and the two small updates which immediately followed it (wecharge and user manual update, I think they were). This one could well have been something similar again, it was evidently just a minor update. The car was at the dealers recently for some warranty work, nothin...

New software update
A new software update notification appeared a couple of days ago. The notification helpfully indicated that this update includes: (blank!). I downloaded and installed it, it only took a few minutes so clearly wasn't anything major. I was on 2.3 already and have been for some time. This felt similar ...

Re: Ohme charger problem
For what it's worth, my Ohme go is now consistently charging correctly overnight, using the API, limiting to the 12.30 to 4.30am window using the >5p price cap setting. The charge rate does vary a lot during the charge, I've seen it drop down to 1kw and even tail off completely before restarting. Bu...

Re: Ohme charger problem
i had this happen a few weeks ago - we have the ohme home pro and same don’t charge over 5p settings selected just as you describe did almost exactly the same -ohme diligently investigated suggested that the chargers had for whatever reason dropped off the network so couldn’t verify the rate in thi...

Re: ID3 Software Update v2.3
Hiya all, I’ve had my ID.3 for about 4 weeks or so now. When I got the car I had a notification to say that it was downloading an update. 500 miles on the click later and it doesn’t seem to be moving at all. I can only charge my car at lidle/Tesco/shopping mall as I can’t have a charge point put at...

Re: Front sensor issue
I’m constantly getting a “please clean front parking sensors” message, despite the sensors being scrupulously clean. One, however, does have a very small scratch - possibly a stone chip. Could this be the reason? Anyone else had the problem? Obviously this is a different issue to the one the OP was...

Ohme charger problem
Hi all. I'm having issues with my Ohme charger so would like to seek the collective wisdom of the forum! We've got an Ohme go, commando socket version, and are on Octopus go for our electricity. The Ohme app is set to restrict charging to only times where the cost is less than 5p, which up to now ha...

Re: ID3 Drum Brakes
I had a car dart out of a side road right in front of me a couple of weeks ago, it was a proper emergency braking job and the ID3 did a decent job on the anchors. I don't have any issues with the brake performance, but I do agree that the pedal feel could be better, and it takes a while to get used ...

Re: Front sensor issue
That does sound like the 2.3 software update might have started downloading. Do you see an option on the goodbye screen, to update the software? It can take a while to appear as there's quite a bit of data to download.

Re: 80% Charge issue
VW recommendation (and widely accepted good practice) for optimum battery longevity is to charge to 80% as a matter of course. If you need 100%, only do it when absolutely necessary, and don't leave the battery charged at >80% for any longer than necessary (i.e charge then use the car straight away).

Re: Reduce VAT on public charging
Signed. With electricity costs going up in April I'm a bit scared what it'll mean for public chargers. There's a 50kW charger near me that's 25p/kWh. Right now, that seems super high. Come April... that's a bargain, and it charges much faster than my home charger. You can probably expect public cha...

Re: Condensation and water droplets inside headlight
I have noticed for the past couple of days both headlights are misted, with the passenger side extremely misted. The mist remains even after a long dry drive. e mail from dealer,, ,, have received your images of your car. The lights in the newer cars are now vented and do cause misting in the colde...

Re: Condensation and water droplets inside headlight
Same here. I booked mine into the dealer today, they've just called to let me know that a replacement headlight has been ordered. I also had a niggling piece of loose trim underneath the infotainment screen, which wouldn't quite stay clipped in place properly, that's getting replaced as well. This w...

Re: Condensation and water droplets inside headlight
Hi all, I've just read down this thread, most intriguing. The issue has happened on more than one vehicle and there is an assertion that it constitutes a failure of MOT. If the issue affects more than a certain percentage of vehicles surely there should be factory recall to replace the headlight un...

Re: 4 Minutes from Entry to Climate Operation - 2.3
Pre-heat via the app, rather than get into a steamed up car? I'm practicing that behaviour this winter, I didn't get into the habit last year. Or, just press the MAX button on the light control panel to the left of the steering wheel. Pre-heating is absolutely brilliant. I find it's most useful for...

Re: 4 Minutes from Entry to Climate Operation - 2.3
When you start it defaults (before any screen coming up) to the last settings. So mine is set to 19 deg with ac on - and pretty much from when I sit in the seat it starts warming to that temp. Regardless of getting the climate screen up. Mine didn't do anything until the climate system was availabl...

Re: Total blackout of infotainment and instrument binnacle
I have had what I think is the same noise on a few occasions too. Loud enough for me to think it is something serious but so far (touch wood!) everything seems to still be working OK when it happens. Only happened a handful of times in 12 months though, and always when first setting off I think. Ac...
